Finally, End of Lesson

Finally reached the end of the crash course of Financial Management with Mr Sami. Yesterday, he went all the way from 6.45pm -10.15pm. I must say that he is really good lecturer, really well prepared for his lessons. I guessed the rest is up to me & the examiner already. Haha!!!

I reached home at about 11pm. After my bath & unpacking, my head hit the pillows at 12mn. I was late for work today. I guessed I was too tired after 4 continuous days of lessons. I was being chided by a colleague, L for being late. I was thinking, its not of your business to scold me for being late. My boss is aware that I am having lessons & I did inforn him that I may be in a wee bit late as the lessons could be long.

My day was perked up by my fellow course mate, Cindy, DJ & Krys. I was not aware that DJ was back in Singapore till Krys told me. DJ was a little surprised that I asked her friend, Krys along. The reason I guess, I haven't met her before. I told DJ before her Thai trip that I want to know Krys, & her reply was "Ok, just know her directly, mention that I am DJ's friend & want to know her.

So far, I have chatted with Krys a few times through the phone & MSN. She sounds like a nice gal. Hope that my judgement is not wrong!!!

I got an sms from my ex colleague, Sunny. He said that they will like to meet up for a mass birthday celebration for the ex colleagues born in Dec. Initially, I did not want to attend, as I was afraid that I would not be able to complete my revision, but after much persuasion from Sunny, I changed my mind & would be attending. I told him that he will be celebrating my birthday too.

Talking about my birthday, I asked Jason to check if Cafe Cartel will be able to hold up to 13 people. I must really thank him. The Cafe Cartel staff said it was possible to hold up to that number of people, but we have to go in early for our dinner. I think we may have to do just that for my hatch day!!!

REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO MY BIRTHDAY BASH !!
DATE: 17 DECEMBER 2005 (SAT)
TIME: 5.30PM (TENATIVELY)
PLACE: RAFFLES CITY CAFE CARTEL
ENTERTAINMENT : KTV AT KBOX SUNTEC CITY
GATECRASHERS WILL BE THROWN OUT!!!
HAHA!!!

Looks Like A Really Big Scale Birthday Bash For Me?

I think my birthday bash this round may just be the biggest that I ever hosted at my own expense as 2 of my new net friends plan to join in, which makes it a count of 12. My brother also said he wanted to join me, as he feels bored, sitting at home waiting for his O Level results.

I have been trying to find a job for him, but to date, I have heard nothing. Maybe the market is bad.

Thanks to Mag & Krys, I try to make you guys feel comfortable that day of the bash.

How Boyish or Girlish Are You?

You Are 60% Boyish and 40% Girlish

You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.
Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.
You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.
You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be.

Lesson With Saminathan

Today, I was up early for my Paper 2.4 lesson with my favourite FTC lecturer, Mr Saminathan. It was the start of a hectic 4 days of lesson for me, starting from today, 10am -5pm.

His lessons are always interesting, but his break is always short, 5 mins only. I am lucky that I am a guy. If I were a gal, I would always have to queue for my toilet break!

In my haste today, I forgot to bring foolscap paper to copy notes. I had to pinch some from 2 ladies sitting around me. Fortunately, I managed to get my brother to come down to FTC to pass me the foolscap for the second half of the 6.5 hr lesson during lunch. It was defintely the fastest lunch I had at Pizza Hut. A record half an hour with my brother. I was so worried that I could not get back to class to start the lesson again.

He actually extended his lesson to 5.30pm. Was so shagged after that, so took the bus instead of the MRT as I could sleep.

Tomorrow is another 7 hr day. Sianz

Is It Because of Money Or Anger?

I think I know why the cleaner did not clean my work area on Wed. Inititally, she wanted to borrow $10 from me. Usually, I would lend her what she wanted, but unfortunately that day, I had less than that amount in my wallet, so I told her I didn't have enough cash to lend her.

I feel that if that is the reason, why she left my work area as a pig sty, I feel that it is too much. I really did not have enough money that day, but I do not see the need of you being so vengeful, by not sweeping my area & clearing my rubbish.

Or perhaps, you were not happy that the Audit Manager was rushing you. We did tell you about our working hours. We end at 5.30pm. You can't expect the Audit Manager or me just to stay behind to wait for you to come & clean our office everyday. Our fellow colleagues have to leave on the dot, as they have families to look after. We had seen you a few times, loitering at the food court of our lobby, purposely coming in late for your work. We are not wrong to rush you as we also want to get home after a hard day's work.

What should I do? Tell my boss!!!

A Day Being A Cleaner

I am currently in office now, still waiting for the cleaner to do finish her cleanup of the office. The Audit manager has asked me to stay behind as he is representing the firm to go for K's dad-in law funeral wake.

I was pretty angry as I stepped into the office today as I found that the cleaner did not clear my rubbish or swept my area. It was so dirty, like a pig sty. In the end, I had to roll up my sleeves & do it myself.

I wonder if I should tell my boss about this. But out of sympathy for the cleaner (her husband had a stroke & is bedridden), I have decided against it as I feel that it is already hard for her to earn a living, & knowing my boss, she will take the necessary discplinary action against the cleaner.

I hope that I won't have to see the sight of a dirty work area again!!!

What Is Friendship?

I received news today that one of my colleagues, who is also one of my lunch partners lost her father-in law to a sudden fall.

I contributed a token sum as 白金. But I was quite stunned by one of my colleagues, Q about what she said. Q had known this colleague of mine, K, from their previous company. This means that they have known each other for a long time. Q said, " the person who passed away is K's father in law, & not her immediate family member. My group of colleagues, including myself were stunned.

Flashback to two incidents, where I felt that K really went through great lengths to help Q during Q's brother sudden death due to cancer & the time when Q had a bad fall that caused her to be on crutches for about 3 months.

K actually comforted Q during the breavement period & helped her buy food, boil water & sometimes hail a cab for her.

Now, K needs Q's support, Q just cast aside K by saying "the person who passed away is K's father in law, & not her immediate family member & I am very busy, need to teach lesson & take care of my daughter." What kind of friend are you, I asked her, don't you appreciate your friend or should I say treasure what your friend has done for you?"

Q, I know why your friends are deserting you. It is because of your this attitude to your friends. You will lose more friends if you continue like that.

If I were K, I would really walk out on Q, ke what I did to a certain person,I did blogged before here because the person is not appreciative to what I did for him & put me to embrarassment.

K, hope everything is fine. The dead can't be brought back to life.

$2.8m Dream Smashed

I just went through the Singapore Pools website to check the Toto results. My investment is gone, Yeah, the $2.8m dream gone.

I was quite pissed off with the self-declared manager. The b*** said I locked my boss out of the office when she was in the washroom. I was not even aware that my boss would be around during lunch time, so I accidentally locked my boss out. It was such a small thing, yet the b*** made such a big hoo-ha over it.

Damn pissed.*****points middle finger******

Appeal for Witness for Traffic Police Accident

I saw this traffic police appeal on Alan's blog. It is very near to where I am living. So I hope maybe some of my neighbours are reading this.

http://www.xanga.com/humourboi

I hope we can find the reason behind the accident soon.

May Alan's friend pull herself & her family members together.

****Says slient prayers of well wishes for the family****

Lunch at Plaza Parkroyal

I met up with Richard & Huiyu today for a lunch cum meet up session at Plaza Parkroyal Hotel. Although this is not the 1st time I been there, I still enjoy the good food there.

It was a good chance that Richard wanted to meet up with us. We wanted to help him to forget about Irene, his ex-girlfriend. It was really a heart to heart talk session with Richard as we really aired our views about what we felt he should do. We hope he can take our advice & get on with his life.

At Huiyu's request, I have invited him for my birthday. I hope SR don't kill me for this. Richard had said something about SR, which I don't think I can disclose it here. for fear that she can kill me for this. I am not sure if he is coming or not as he does not like KTV & crowds.

After the heavy lunch, which they enjoyed very much, we went to walk at Bugis before heading our seperate ways.

IPOD Nano

I went to collect my free gift, the IPOD Nano at FTMS Centre with Jason yesterday. Just managed to install the IPOD software. I just find that those people at Apple are smart. They used FTMS staff to do the collection admin work for them. Some of you will know that FTMS is a specialist school for ACCA students as well.

After the collection, we went to Best Denki, as he was planning to change his notebook PC. You guys must be wondering how come he has the cash when he is not working. He is paying by instalments with the hope of finding a job soon. But seriously, if I were him, I would actually wait for my job to be stable before I do anything of this big expenditure nature.

Stunners Day

I was supposed to go to Apple to collect my IPod Nano today, but I didn't know that they will be closing at 7pm. Since I was late for work today, I was sure that I was not able to make it there on time. I thank my buddy, Jason, for sharing with me this piece of info. In fact, I was supposed to join him to collect the IPod, as he signed up for the plan too. I am looking forward to my new IPod Nano tomorrow.

I called up one of my friends, who did not pick up my calls yesterday. I knew that something was amiss when she picked up my call today. To respect her decision & prevent any misunderstandings as her boyfriend may get to see my blog through her blog, as there is a link, I won't be saying what she told me. My message to her is to take care of herself.

SR messaged me just after my lunch. She said that some of the parents thought that she was a 12 year old student playing the piano. I was laughing out loud & thinking why the parents can't see that she is a teacher & not a student. This means that she still looks very young, like a P6 student. If that's the case, I guess boyfriend & marriage can wait. Haha. (SR: meant to be a joke, no pun intended.)

Was running through my blog during lunch time & came across a new comment from a gal that I didn't know, who said that my blog was interesting & wanted to be friends with me.

What do you guys think? Should I go ahead & know her?

Love Consultant, Paul, When I am Still Single?

This week, I received a lot of questions about love from my friends. I was thinking one of the best things being single is there is no need to worry about such questions, but without BGR, life can be boring, especially when your friends around you are slowly joining the "Attached" Club.

I am not against BGR. But I always believe that BGR has a lot of ingredients & factors to make it taste good & nice or can be bad & nasty.

The few things that I feel that is important in a relationship are :-
  1. Communication
  2. Care & concern
  3. Sense of responsibility

It does not matter whether your partner is older or younger than you, as I feel that age is just a number. Always remember not to compare your partner with your ex-es or other people as different people are unique. If a relationship does not work out, do not brood over it, take it as a lesson & move on. Loving a person is not easy. Gaining acceptance is hard also.

This is for DJ, Richard, Alexandra & Sis Jaslyn.

What A Day

I wanted to go to Sim Lim Square today to get the battery for my house's alarm system but the heavy downpour thawarted my plans & I had to come home in a cab as the rain was too heavy. It turned out to be good, as I managed to carry home the calendar planner that my client had given to me. But I do not think I will be using it, as a planner takes up a lot of space & I do not usually plan my days too far ahead. I should be giving the planner to SR, as I feel that she needs the planner more I do. A teacher needs a planner, as she has too many activities to remember. Haha.

Straits Times Article on The Arts

I was reading through today Straits Times & came across an interesting feature about Pioneers Singapore Arts Scene, Mdm Goh Lay Kuan & the late Mr Kuo Pao Kun.

Although this is not the first time I have heard them sharing their experiences in the art scene & their lives, as my parents know the couple & children well. It is always interesting to see or her experiences on radio programmes & newspaper articles.

I am always personally impressed by the contributions that they have made to the Singapore Arts Scene & their strong personalities.

I would recommend all of you to read that article.

Paul's Working Style

Your Working Style

You are friendly, adaptable and a realist. You rely on what you see, hear, and know first-hand. You good-naturedly accept and use the facts around you. You look for a satisfying solution instead of trying to impose any "should" or "must" of your own. You are sure a satisfying solution will turn up once you have grasped all the facts.
You solve problems by being adaptable, and often can get other to adapt, too. People generally like you well enough to consider any compromise you suggest. You are unprejudiced open-minded, and tolerant of most everyone-- including yourself. You take things as they are and thus may be very good at easing a tense situation and pulling conflicting factions together.
You are actively curious about objects, scenery, activities, food, people, or anything new presented to your senses. Your expert abilities in using your senses may show in:
a continuous ability to see the need of the moment and turn easily to meet it
the ability to absorb, apply and remember great numbers of facts
an artistic taste and judgement
the handling of tools and materials With your focus on the current situation and realistic acceptance of what exists, you can be gifted problem solvers. Because you are not necessarily bound by a need to follow standard procedures or preferred methods, you are often able to see ways of achieving a goal by "using" the existing rules, systems, or circumstances in new ways, rather than allowing them to be roadblocks.
You make your decisions by using the logical analysis of thinking rather than the more personal values of feeling. Your thinking enables you to crack down when the situation calls for toughness, and also helps you grasp underlying principles. You learn more effective in actual situations than on written tests. Abstract ideas and theories are not likely to be trusted by you until you have been tested in experience. You may have to work harder than other people to achieve in school, but can do so when you see the relevance.
You do best in careers needing realism, action, and adaptability. Examples are engineering, police work, credit investigation, marketing, health technologies, construction, production, recreation, food services, and many kinds of troubleshooting.
You are strong in the art of living. You get a lot of fun out of life, which makes you good company. You enjoy your material possessions and take the time to acquire you. You find much enjoyment in good food, clothes, music, and art. You enjoy physical exercise and sports, and usually are good at these.
How effective you are depends on how much judgment you acquire. You may need to develop your feeling so that they can use your values to provide standards for your behavior, and direction and purpose in your lives. If your judgment is not developed enough to give you any character or stick-to-it-iveness, you are in danger of adapting mainly to your own love of a good time.

Introduction

I have introduced a friend for Richard as per his request. The person I have introduced to him was Rebecca, since she said she preferred quiet guys & my 8 year buddy from poly is one of them. Haha :)

Richard was quite stunned when I told him via MSN that I have introduced a new friend for him. I told him to take it as a friend first. It was quite fun actually, as Richard was commenting that SR was changing her MSN pics too fast, and made him dizzy. (SR told me today that Richard later actually requested her pics to be sent to him. I told him that my buddy can be a blind bat as he has a 1ooo degree 近视). Richard also commented she was slow in reponse to him & how SR is a person who broke a few of his commandments as friend. I shan't put here what the commandments are, as I have told SR about it in our teleconversation.

SR was saying that I should have the KTV event after my birthday dinner. She said I could make it an optional event, not compulsory for all. I think its a good idea. Anyway, I think sure got people want to join in. Darling jie & SR are those. SR also said I should not be treating for the KTV, since I already will be treating them for the dinner. DJ will rejoice over this.

I also suggested to SR that she & DJ can come to my house for the CDs after the KTV session. Anyway I have a spare room to house them. They just need to bring their clothes & other daily stuff.

New Albums - Stefanie Sun & Fish Leong

I went to HMV today & met up with another 1 of my long-time net friend, Angela. I knew her since she was in poly. Now she is happily working & attached.

I was supposed to meet her at 1pm at Orchard Takashimaya, but I was too engrossed with my teleconversation with SR, that I overshot my time. I shall elaborate on why I overshot my time later.

On reaching the traffic junction, I realised that I did not bring my wallet with me, so I went home again to get it. Seeing I was already very late. I hailed a cab to Heereen instead & told Angela to meet me for lunch at Sakae Sushi instead.

This gal struck me as a chatty gal & very loving to her boyfriend, as she kept asking me to help her boyfriend with the paper he is in a jam at. The paper was the tax paper, which I have cleared in Dec 2004. Since Singapore tax law changes every year after the Budget, I advised her that I could only get her the ISBN no, so that she could try to get hold of the book from her company.

She has such strong feelings for her boyfriend that she said she didn't have the mood to eat as her boyfriend was in Genting & she misses him. So sweet. She also said that she was on diet as her boyfriend had complained that she was too heavy when he carries her. Haha.

Other than that, we chatted about her upcoming Taiwan trip, her favourite boyband, Energy, her family. She also showed me the machines for neoprint photo taking. I was quite impressed as I have not taken a neoprint before. This shows what a mountain turtle I am. :)
Unfortunately, her mum asked her to get home just after I bought the CDs from HMV. I enjoyed my day though.

I have finished listening to Stefanie Sun's new album. It is not bad. I would recommend you guys go & get it.

Sesame Street Persona Test

This is an interesting one, taken from Cruz Teng's blog.

Kermit the Frog
You scored 64% Organization, 51% abstract, and 69% extroverted!
This test measured 3 variables.

First, this test measured how organized you are. Some muppets like Cookie Monster make big messes, while others like Bert are quite anal about things being clean.

Second, this test measured if you prefer a concrete or an abstract viewpoint. For the purposes of this test, concrete people are considered to gravitate more to mathematical and logical approaches, whereas abstract people are more the dreamers and artistic type.

Third, this test measured if you are more of an introvert or an extrovert. By definition, an introvert concentrates more on herself and an extrovert focuses more on others. In this test an introvert was somebody that either tends to spend more time alone or thinks more about herself.

You are mostly organized, both concrete and abstract, and more extroverted.

Here is why are you Kermit the Frog.

You are both somewhat organized. You have a good idea where you put things and you probably keep your place reasonably clean. You aren't totally obsessed with neatness though. Kermit is also reasonably tidy. He'll even dress up for interviews.

You both are sometimes concrete and sometimes abstract thinkers. Kermit spends a lot of his time as a reporter collecting facts, but he is also the author of the dreamy song "The Rainbow Connection." You have a good balance in your life. You know when to be logical at times, but you also aren't afraid to explore your dreams and desires... within limits of course.

You are both extroverts. Kermit gets along with everyone. Sure a few folks annoy him, but that's just because they are annoying. Kermit likes to meet new people when he does his job as a street reporter. You definitely enjoy the company of others, and you don't have problems meeting new people... in fact you probably look forward to it. You are willing to take charge when necessary or work as part of a team.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Kermit starred on Sesame Street years before The Muppet Show.

The other possible characters are
Oscar the Grouch
Big Bird
Snuffleupagus
Ernie
Elmo
Cookie Monster
Grover
The Count
Guy Smiley
Bert

If you enjoyed this test, I would love the feedback! Also if you want to tell me your favorite Sesame Street character, I can total them up and post them here. Perhaps your choice will win!

My mum nags again??? When can she stop?

My mum is nagging again. This time about the ACCA Paper 2.4 again. She said that if I cannot clear my Paper 2.4 this round, I will have to do my own paying for the paper.

Like I said before, if she really pull the plug off my studies, I have to bid goodbye to ACCA as the course fee & exam fee for each subject is getting too much for me to bear. Next year, the course fee alone is $550 for each subject, each paper is about $170. This does not include the subscription fees that I am paying to ICPAS & ACCA UK of about close to $300 each year.

My dad just found a new job not too long ago. As part of the family, I have to bite the bullet with him, so I usually help out with some of the expenses when the family is in need.

As some of you may know, my current job has limited prospects. I have been thinking to switch a bigger firm to learn new things, obtain a higher pay, gain promotion. Right now, I simply do not have the luxry to do that because of these problems.

Mum, I hope you can understand. It is not that I do not want to try. I am trying very very hard to clear my Paper 2.4. Maybe that time, luck was not with me, the lecturer whom I wanted to be taught by did not conduct any part time class, so I chose the other lecturer that was so lousy. She didn't teach a lot of things. It was only when I went to the good lecturer's class that I discovered it. By the time when I realised, it was too late. I was not too disappointed with my second sitting result, although it was the same score that I got as the 1st sitting, I knew I did my best as I had to juggle the busy work schedule & my study.

This semester, I hope I can clear the papers, but I guess I am only allowed 4 days of exam leave as I need to solve the IRAS My Tax Portal new system problems.

Talking about this is making my blood boil too. I hope that IRAS can solve their admin problems & hiccups on the system quickly.

Stress man, I think I dying soon. Please help & advise me

Richard's Urge To Meet Up

I will be meeting up with Richard on next Sunday, with Huiyu. We will be meeting at Plaza Parkroyal Hotel for a buffet lunch. Richard asked me to think about the place to meet up. I was thinking, since he just broke up with Irene, I should bring him to a place to enjoy good food.

In case, you find the place familar, this was where my boss always brought us to for our company lunch. It is also the place that I had in mind for my birthday initially, but after seeing my guest list ballooned to 10 people, I asked Jason to source for the place for me. I was quite thankful that he suggested Cafe Cartel , tried the food there before with Jason. The portion of the food is really US size 1, like the ones served at Fish & Co. I have strong doubts that some of my female friends, who are small eaters, can finish the portion of food.

Majority of my guests have already confirmed their pressence. The latest being Stella, Yishan & Raymond. I guess I have to send a gentle reminder to Stella, when the date is closer. I am afraid that she may forget. I do not want the fiasco to happen like it did the last time. :)

Lesson Day

Yesterday was the final lesson for my Audit & Internal Review paper. It was also the 1st time I saw Richard after his break-off with Irene. I could sense that he is still very upset about the break up.

I told him that with Irene's attitude towards him in the last year of the relationship, It is atrocious to think that they are a couple.

  1. When Richard wants to chat with her on the phone, she is not even to spare at least 5 mins to chat with him. As Richard described aptly, he is like a train being stopped at a crossing.
  2. When it was Richard's b-day 2 months ago, she told him to get his own birthday present & she will reimburse him later.
  3. When she is out with her friends, she will ask Richard to go & rent a car & pick her up, Richard would sometimes oblige, but as he is sometimes tired, she would rant at him.
  4. When Richard wants to go out with her, she always rejects him, even though he ask her out once a week.

I feel that as a couple, proper communication is vital in a relationship. This is more so in Singapore as all of us are always busy with our stuff, so meeting up for dates are usually quite limited, but I still think a couple should meet at least once a week.

I just hope this breakup will not affect his exam grades for the upcoming exam in Dec.

Cheer up, my friend, Irene is not suitable for you, she behaves like a spolit child. I am sure with your good character & good boy habits, you can find a better gal.

Birthday Guest List

After much deliberation about the guest list for my birthday, I guess I will be switching my birthday to Cafe Cartel from the intital plans of Plaza Parkroyal Hotel for buffet as my guest list will be like the 1st birthday when I was in NS, where I had 11 friends who do not know each other at first, celebrated my birthday at Sushi Tei, Ngee Ann City. This year, my guest list is 9 people.

I have sent out sms to all the people that I wish to invite, asking them to make themselves free on 17 Dec 2005, Sat. It will be dinner & after that, it should be KTV. (DJ will like me for this!!!). I have decided on Raffles City Branch as it is near to City Hall MRT & accessible for almost all my guests.

By the way, here are the guests and their confirmation status.

  1. Jason - confirmed
  2. Rebecca-confirmed
  3. Darling-confirmed
  4. Caifeng -confirmed
  5. Kelvin-
  6. Huiyu -
  7. Stella -
  8. Yishan-
  9. Raymond -

I just hope that everyone can come. I hope I do not have to fight with some pop group for people to come for my birthday. hehe:)

Birthday Celebration Should Be Getting Bigger

I got a surprise from Darling jie & Sis Rebecca today. Darling said that she won't be able to make it on 12 Nov for the planned KTV session. She suggested that I go with Sis Rebecca only, but SR say she don't want lei. She say wait till DJ is free then meet.

After a phone call with DJ about when to meet, we finally decided to meet on 17 Dec, the day I will be having celebration with my friends. DJ & SR said that they do not mind having it together with my friends. They said that after which, we can go KTV together with my friends. Some of them are good singers too.

Happy for My Buddy

I am very happy that my poly buddy, Richard that he has finally managed to split with his girlfriend of four years. The materialisic girlfriend of his have taken his pressence & the relationship for granted. During the last year of the relationship, the gal kept saying that she was busy, & could not meet up with him.I am very surprised. If you are really into a relationship, I guess you should meet your partner at least once a week to keep the spark & communication going. If you really like this person, you would definitely find time to keep the relationship going.

I just hope that Richard will be alright with the breakup, After all, it has been 4 long years.

Buddy, you have my support when you need it. Don't worry, you sure can find a good gal who appreciates you & admire your good qualities.

I also got an sms from Caifeng today. Again, she asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I was thinking why she asked me so early. Later, she replied saying that she was asking on behalf of the rest & she is the appointed purchaser for my birthday present again. After thinking & much delibration, I told her I need Samsung voucher to purchase my dream Samsung handphone, E730C. The reason why I chose the voucher was that I knew that Caifeng & Jason are not working, so they would definitely have problems coughing up their share for my present.
Some of you may think that why I do not want them to spend so much, when I spent so much for their present this year. If friendship have to be measured in monentary terms, I will not be good friends with them anymore after so long. As the Chinese saying goes "谈钱伤感情.真友难寻."

Modern Dance for Beginners

I went to watch this play 'Modern Dance for Beginners' with a new net friend, Mac. I was quite surprised she asked me out quite suddenly to watch this play with her on Thursday, because since I have known her, she seemed to be quite a 'cold' person, quite hard to get along with.

She was late for about an hour for our appointment. As we were running late for the play, we took a cab from Clarke Quay to DBS Art Centre at Robertson Quay. Along the journey, she said that since she was very late, she is giving me a treat to the play. In fact, she also treated me tea break later. Looks like have to treat her back the next round, which she said she may be bringing me to "Muchuan", the pub that Joi Chua used to sing before she started out. I am excited about it as never been there before.

The play was performed by two actors, who play 4 different characters each, showcasing the different viewpoints about love, sex and marriage in the society. Personally I feel that the viewpoints are pretty true but the acting was pretty static & the change from one scene to the next one seemed to have no link to the next one.

After the show, we went to a nearby cafe at UE Square for our drink. It was defintely surprising to see her opening up, talking about work, play & hobbies. We actually went on for about an hour before heading home.

Checking the results at http://www.singaporehitawards.sg/result.htm and on TV just now, it is quite a surprise to see the local artistes dominating the awards this round. The biggest winners were my personal favourites, Stefanie Sun & JJ Lin. I felt that they have done well, especially JJ. They have even outshone the more established singers like David Tao, Jolin Tsai & Jacky Cheung. However, the listener's choice did not come as a surprise to me.

But I do believe that the local acts may have won this year as many foreign artistes, especially those established ones were unable to attend the award ceremony, whereas the local acts really made the effort to attend the ceremony this year. In fact, this is a long-standing issue that has always been refuted by the organisers that the awards are always usually given to the artistes that have attended the ceremony for that year. But I guess the local artistes really put themselves on the map of Asia with their hard work & perseverance.

Just to say, I feel proud to be a Singaporean.

This is my predictions for the Hit Awards tomorrow. May the best wins. Do take note of the ones in bold. That's my choice of the winners.

Concerts Galore

This month & next month a lot of concerts by my favourite artistes, but too bad, my exams are almost here in Dec. So I should give them a miss.

  1. Singapore Hit Awards 2005 on 4 Nov 2005
  2. David Tao [LOVE CAN WORLD TOUR 2005 ] on 26 Nov 2005
  3. Music Craze 2005 Concert on 19 Nov 2005, featuring Ocean Ou, Jolin Tsai, & Joi Chua
  4. Ah Du In Concert on 23 Dec 2005

Its always sad that they have to hold concert during my exam period. Sux...

Waking up at the Wrong Side Of Bed

The day was spoiled by my mum's screams & shouts at 9am. It is a public holiday. Despite having 10 hrs of sleep each night for the past two nights, I am still feeling tired. It could be due to work stress.

I hated my sleep to be disturbed. My whole day would be spoiled. I was asked to wake up to have my breakfast & do some typing of letters for her. I was also asked to clear my computer desk, which I was thinking to do today anyway.

My cousin had sent some social studies notes over to my brother by post, but the trouble was I didn't receive the mail from my letterbox after all. My mum thought that I have passed the mail to my brother & my brother must have thrown it away. Is she crazy?

Wonder why is she getting on my nerves recently? If she is facing money problems, I am also. Because she keeps thinking that I am very cash rich, earning a lot. I must say my pay packet is based on the market rate & I spend normally for all the basic necessities. If you think a pay packet of 1.7k is a lot, and want more allowance from me, I doubt I can do it.

The reason for my cash rich is to protect myself against any sudden occurences due to old age of my parents.

I feel stressed. I just want a break! When I can have it?

Finally Got my Singnet Done

I went to the Hello @ Orchard to get my Singnet Recontract done. It has been very fustrating that I just can't get to the Recontract webby for the past three days. I told the Singnet people that I was only able to load half the page, without being able to look at the offers, therefore, how could I be able to sign up? Luckily, I was able to get it done at Hello @ Orchard.

After that, I accompanied Jason to the Sony Ericcson Service Centre to replace his K750I cover. It was only a recent purchase & the cover is already loose. I wonder what's with the quality control of the making of the handphone. One more thing to add, the queue at the centre was so long. This was despite the fact that we went after 2pm. On seeing that, we went for our lunch & went back after that. Unfortunately, we wasted an hour on that again.

Jason was telling me that he went to Kwan Imm Tong Temple the other day. He went to pick a lot, which was pretty unlucky. It seems that good luck has been deserting him. Just hope he can find a good job soon.

I called Rebecca today. She was saying that her nephew is still having the on-off fever that refuses to go away, therefore she's only able to confirm if she can join us on the 12th on the 10th. Let's hope the little boy is alright soon.

Stupid Singnet Sign Up Page

I tried to sign up for the Singnet Broadband 1.5Mbps Recontract Plan since last nite. I seem to have problems assessing the site at www.singnet.com.sg/recontract . I didn't manage to see the offers on the pages. After trying for the whole of today & yesterday nite, I have given up trying to sign up again.

I will be going to Singtel Orchard to do the activation tomorrow, and explain to them my predicament in not being able to assess the site. Maybe they should check the connection of their site.

Change

It has been a while since I last blogged. My mood have been affected by my work recently. The fortunate thing was that there was singing, JJ...
