I had little choice but to bring back home for my public holiday break on Thursday and worked through the public holiday on Friday as I was asked by my friend, Xiuling to help her out in volunteering for Yio Chu Kang Youth Executive Committee Youth ComShare Program & I was asked by my area’s Integration & Naturalisation Committee to lead a group of new citizens & permanent residents to Gardens By The Bay. Visit to Singapore Cheshire Home It was a fulfilling experience to help out the residents of the home who are much less mobile than me. I certainly had fun playing games and singing for them as well. The company’s tax cum admin department dinner was suggested by my new colleague, Evelyn about a month after she joined us. All of us felt that it was a good idea to have a such a gathering. This was the dinner which also marks my colleague, Anna last working day with us, as she goes on her maternity leave and would rejoin us in early January 2013. I had signed up the fibre broadband with Singtel on 20 August but I did not expect it was to be the start of my another nightmare in my 7 year association with Singtel, something similar to what happened when I first signed up MIO TV when EPL crossed over from Starhub to the MIO TV platform, where they gave me a 3rd telephone line when I did not ask for it. I do not think I should terminate my association just yet as I feel that their service is still better than M1 & Starhub, having used the three telcos for internet, pay TV & mobile services before. I was supposed to do this post last week but had been so busy with my work that I have been bringing it home to clear it, with the hope of meeting the deadline, which is at the end of next month. Evelyn & Yong Jie’s Birthday Celebration An advance birthday celebration for Evelyn, and a belated birthday celebration for Yong Jie, the October couple. The guest list for the celebration was drawn up by the birthday couple, while I was tasked by them and the invited guests to send out the invites & do the gift shopping for the couple. In the end, we settled on a set of couple watches for the couple. We were glad to say that almost all the invited guests, except Jonathan were able to make it for the celebration. I hope the couple find the gift from us useful. We certainly enjoyed the KTV celebration session, dinner cum desert session with them that day.
