Meetup With The Gals

The meetup with Angela, Xiuling & Jia Jie was pre arranged about a month back. It was meant to be a casual meetup but it was turned into a lively meetup as Xiuling wanted to do a Christmas gift exchange. In the spirit of Christmas giving & sharing, we agreed to her plan. As we have been close friends for quite a while, I decided to give them a personal gift as well, after Angela told me that she would be getting individual gifts for us as well a gift for gift exchange. I guess no matter the monetary value of  the value of the gift, the value of our friendship is more important. As the Chinese saying goes, 礼轻情义重。 First up was lunch, followed by movie, walking with dinosaurs. The main draw was the KTV session at Teo Heng KTV at Sembawang Shopping Centre as it was decided that we will do our gift exchange at our maiden KTV session together. I would like to thank my birthday surprise planner, Jasmine for the birthday surprise and all the other volunteers for paying for my birthday dinner. Till we meet again after the Chinese New Year holidays!!!

Work Musings

I had been rather busy with my work recently as there was the Corporate Tax deadlines on 30 Nov & 15 Dec to meet. The last thing I need was the shooting of arrows that were to come from my other department colleagues or co-workers that my department colleagues were very free and doing nothing when we are all busy with work and the best part, our paymaster believes all these crap. This made me realise that I needed to start planning for myself, having spent close to 6 years of my working life here. My parents are against the idea of me changing a job, when everything is tried & tested and my pay has been alright. After a test out at the market, which left me saddened by the fact that there are still companies who looks down on people with physical disabilities despite the fact that our Government has been saying that companies should adopt fair employment practices. The good thing that is keeping me going is my manager & fellow co-workers have been fantastic to me and th
