Most Expensive KTV On A Sat Afternoon

I was invited to the KTV event organised by Raymond at Nex Partyworld. Little did we expect that this would be the most expensive KTV session that we had to pay for a Sat afternoon and the customer service at the branch was really so bad that I had to sms to the marketing manager of Partyworld to get them to clean up their act. I do not think we will be going to the branch anytime soon after this experience that left us with this sour taste in the mouth. I feel that personally, the package that we took was not clearly communicated by the manager when we did our booking. If this had been done, this may not have happened. I also feel that the management of Partyworld should have broadcasted their price increase. I am in fact, a little disturbed by the fact that they have increased their prices by close to 30% during the past two months. I feel that the management should heed the Government's call to find innovative ways to improve productivity and try to minimize the passing of i...

IRAS E-filing Refresher Course

This was going to be the 9th year that I will be volunteering for this. I certainly did not expect to be asked to arrive early to sign the Official Secrets Act Form and be taught like an new volunteer, helping out in the e-filing for the first time. It was so boring that my friends, Wendy & Angela really were talking among ourselves to keep ourselves awake and  keep our minds away from our hunger as the food provided for us was certainly not appealing nor palatable to our stomach. The three of us are seriously thinking to skip the refresher course as we are experienced enough to deal with the unexpected situations at the Citizen Connect Centres. Wendy was commenting that I am able to coach the volunteers better as I have been in the line for 9 years and I have,  the Accredited Tax Practitioner Certificate from SIATP, She says I have the patience to coach people. Maybe I should start volunteering my service to IRAS to help to train the new volunteers or I could conduc...

Training of New Staff

My company's admin & accounts department is about to leave the company soon for greener pastures. Actually, we were quite surprised that she will be leaving us, but after giving some thoughts and analysis about this, I guess my boss may be partly right. A foreign staff will not havalmost ie the same sense of belonging and may not have a high level of tolerance as us, the locals. I have since recommended my IRAS volunteer friend, Wendy to join my company. I was quite surprised that my boss had hired her on the spot when she came by for the interview the other day and she started work almost immediately the following week. I did not expect that she was pretty careless in her work, and her handwriting was pretty horrible. In fact, her carelessness nearly caused my company to lose money. My boss was thinking about whether if she should axe her. I was left wondering if I have made the wrong choice of recommending her to work at my office, since my initial choice did not wish to ...

Visit of Ann

Image
As I am writing this, my KTV group friend, Ann should be resting at home, recovering from her operation. I had arranged a group visit to the hospital to visit her with some of the KTV group members, when she was warded on Sunday. I am glad that Sharon, Evelyn, Liang, Alex, Raymond, Weng Kiat, Mandy & Jonathan were supportive of this and joined me for this. This hamper was what we shared for her, wishing her a speedy recovery. I must say her parents were rather cheerful and friendly people. It was nice talking to them. May Ann recover soon and join us for further KTV gatherings.

KTV Saturday

After a 3 month hiatus,I finally found time to organise a KTV session for the Singing @ K Group on Sat. This gathering was quite special as most of the regulars was not able to make it, but there was quite a number of newbies that joined us for the 1st time. I certainly hope that they enjoyed themselves at the session. This session was nearly marred by the fact I was nearly overcharged. Fortunately, I managed to get the manager, Carol to return the amount overcharged to me, after I had a meeting with her at the end of the event. This was because, Partyworld had made a revision of the prices upwards recently, and I was not aware until the day of the event. I am glad that I managed to get the discount back for the group. I think most of the attendees were rather understanding and were able to understand my explanation and did not blame me for it. They were able to wait till the next KTV session. But there were some attendees that thought that I will not refund the money, and asked ...

Ryan’s 8th Birthday Celebration

Image
This was a last minute event, but it was understandable as my friend, who is a bus captain with SBS Transit & his wife is a nurse at Khoo Teck Phuat hospital. I am glad to be invited to their first child’s 8th birthday celebration. According to Eileen, his mum, this was his first birthday party, held at Woodlands Point, MacDonald’s. You will be surprised that the birthday boy is pretty shy, unlike his younger sister, who is more proactive in interacting with the guests. Happy 8th birthday to Ryan. Hope u like the birthday gift from Uncle Paul as I feel that the gift will enable you to play & learn at the same time. =)

樱柳开花

Image
