Someone's Angry, Someone's Upcoming Birthday

X was pretty upset that Huiyu didn't invite him for her b-day celebration. He was nagging on the MSN to me just now that why didn't I remind Huiyu to invite him.

As her b-day co-ordinator, I had asked her who she wanted to invite, & co-ordinated for her, as she was busy. It has always been a regular feature that she will pay for the meal so if she did not ask me to contact X, I would not have contacted as she is paying for the meal. Come to think of it, she only mentioned that she forgot to ask X along when we were @ the station yesterday. I could sense that she was quite apologetic & wanted me to call X there & then & get him to come. I guess this will only settle if Huiyu gives him a treat seperately.

Anyway, Krys' b-day is coming up in April. I was thinking to combine it with Rebecca's one as well, since hers will be in May & usually she will be busy marking exam papers, so an early celebration will be good for her.

I should be asking Darling & Rich along as well. Wonder will Rich come?

The date is not set yet as I haven't been able to get hold of Krys & Rebecca can't confirm as she is busy setting papers.

I haven't decided the gift for Krys yet, most likely a treat for her. As for Rebecca, I do know what she wants. The eating place I have decided, but need to discuss with the birthday ladies.

House Visiting & AVietnamese Girlfriend For Me??

I started my day early today at 8.30am. I was helping my mum with the flower decoration & slept at 1am last night. Had received CNY sms messages from my ex colleague, LS, Angela, Rebecca, Darling, Caifeng, Huixuan, Huiyu, Mac, Jaslyn, Joey, Candy , Kelvin, Rich & Mike. Thanks for all your well wishes, my friends. The 1st stop was at my grandma's place, which we were lucky to get a cab almost immediately after waiting for just a short while. In the ride, my mum & I were chatting casually about some issues that happened in S'pore recently, when we actually touched on the old cobbler cheating Vietnamese gals to be his bride. The cabby told us an incident that happened to his friend. His friend, a guy aged 39 had married a Thai gal aged 23 some years ago. Soon after, they became parents to a baby boy. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
