Jay Chou Latest Song-不能說的秘密

I think Momo & Wendy mei are going to like me for this. This is Jay's latest song. I find that it is not bad. It is very different from most of the Jay songs I heard. Enjoy.

Thank You So Much

Image
I wish to thank all my blog readers who have supported me to let me have the opportunity to share with you all my lifestory. Like what Dalicia said, I won't be sharing it, unless someone tells me to, as it was not easy. I still have some fear after some people whom I don't really know well copied & pasted my blog on a forum & treated it as a crude joke. From there, I learnt that it doesn't pay to be nice to people, because some people misunderstand your kindness as you are causing a disturbance to them. But I hope some people who are reading this can take heart that nothing is not unachieveable. If u try your best, nothing is impossible.

My Lifestory

Image
I was asked by some of my frequent readers of my blog to write a short story about my physical disability, or should I say, my physical challenge as I do not view it as a disability. I was born with this condition, known as cerebral palsy on 18 Dec 1979. The reasons for this condition were m y mum had slipped & fell while mopping the floor when she was pregrant with me and she found that I was not moving in her womb when she went to work the next day. She checked into the hospital and the doctor told her I was to be delivered early as there is swelling in my brain & my ligaments had contracted. I was delivered about 2 months early and stayed in the incubator at ICU for about 6 months. I was supposed to have an operation on my brain to remove the swelling in my brain. But thank heavens, my swelling miraclously subsided on the day when the operation was to be performed. According to my mum, she had chanted the Japanese Buddhist Sutra after hearing from someone about it. As the pr

What Should I Do?

Image
I was asked by my colleague, Q to let my boss have a look at my ACCA Level 2 Certificate. The reason for this is that Q feels that my boss may increase my pay after seeing the certificate. I am afraid that this action if done may not be good as I am afraid that my colleagues will think that I am too greedy. What do you guys think I should do? Your advices are welcome in the comment box.

Dinner With Aidah, Darling, Wendy & Chris

I had requested to see the wedding photos of Aidah, who invited me for her wedding in April, but I was on holiday at that time, so I didn't manage to attend her wedding. Dinner was at Kampong Glam Cafe, which was very near my office. I got Wendy, Chris & Darling to meet me at my office building before walking there to the cafe armed with a map given by Aidah. We had a good time looking at the photos, chatting & joking. Too bad, Mr Tan, Mr Salim & my pal R wasn't able to join us for the gathering. It was my 1st time trying the Malay food and I must say it was a good recommendation by Aidah. I certainly enjoyed myself with Darling & Aidah around. Hope they did enjoy themselves too. By the way, I have to thank Chris for paying for the meal.

Tagged by Rebec & Momo

I was asked by my sister, Rebec & Momo to do this tag which I have previously done for Curryegg & Dalicia on 24 May 2007. Therefore it is just a copy & paste excercise for me. Rules are:* Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.* People who are tagged need to write posts in their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.* At the end of your post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. 1.I was born with cerebral palsy and had 2 operations before I could walk again. 2.I had to serve NS despite my physical disability. 3.I am a true blue Manchester United fan. I started supporting them since 1992. 4.I was exempted from CCA participation in primary & secondary school. I only joined the Interact Club in Sec 3 after the teacher took me in as she felt that the CCA was not physically demanding. 5.I had appeared in newspaper features twice before. 6.I never had a BGR before. You must be thinking, I am joking, b

Eventful Sunday

Image
It was an eventful Sunday for me as I met up with a new net friend, G, who tried to introduce to me a new network marketing product, Ginseng powder & Ginseng pill. As you guys should know, I am usually not very interested in such MLM products, especially after I was in this line before in Forever Living Products. Even if I were to consume the product as a consumer, 1 bottle of ginseng powder that lasts for a month, according to the sales pitch is about $300. I believe that ginseng has its medical value, but a product of this nature is too pricey for a worker like me. The worst part was G introduced one of her female friends to me. This lady, to my horror, is a stalker. Ever since she got my no, she started to call me at night or sms me non-stop. Arrrgh. The worst part is she doesn't read English sms. She reads only Chinese sms, so can u imagine my exsaperation to tell her in hanyu pinyin to tell her to stop pestering me. I have tried to be friends with her, but I guess she is

Spare Original Camera Battery for Sale

I have an original spare camera battery for sale as I accidentally bought two additional spare camera batteries for my digital camera, Olympus FE 190 after the original battery which came with the camera, failed to charge after I have placed in my charger on Fri nite. The urgency to buy the battery was for Wendy's birthday celebration last nite. I smsed my bro to try to help me get a battery for the camera, which he managed to get, but when I passed by the camera shop at Marina Square, I bought another 1 too (and it was double the price of what I paid for.) I told my bro that I will be paying him back the money for the battery. The battery model is LB412 by Olympus. I plan to sell it @ $30. Hopefully, I can get it off soon as I do not need 3 batteries for a digital camera.

Jamiyah Home Mother's Day Award & Wendy's Birthday Celebration

Image
I was asked by Elaine mei to attend the Explemary Mother Award at Ritz Carlton Hotel today. This program was organised by her company, Jamiyah Singapore. It was quite a boring programme & the food was not that fantasic. Fortunately, Terence was there, so at least it was not that boring. The thought of having my ACCA graduation there next time gives me the shivers as the food & sound system were really not up to standard. After that, we proceeded to Wendy's birthday bash at Cineleisure Orchard, Xin Wang HK Cafe. We were joined by Stella, Perfectwound, Momo, Richard, Christine, my brother and Wendy's bf, Chris. I am glad that Wendy likes the present that Stella, Elaine, Terence, Rebec & I have choosen for her. There were some funny happenings that happened during the gathering within the couples who are happily attached. Since it is between the couples, I shan't disclose it here. After the meal, we were all tired, therefore we headed home soon after that.

Meet Up With ACCA Coursemates

Image
Yesterday, I met up with my Paper 3.3 course mates, Elaine, Tammy & Peggy for a catch up session @ Marina Square Billy Bombers. We had some problems contacting Tammy at first as her hp battery was flat, but thanks to the power of MSN, she was able to contact me & confirm the appointment. Although Tammy & I were there early, we didn't see each other at the agreed meeting place until Peggy & Elaine decided to step into Billy Bombers and wait for her instead. Fortunately, she was to show up with her shopping bags. Had a nice catch up about the exams, what papers we will be taking in the next round & about Elaine's new martimonal home. Elaine was complaining about the quarrels that she had with her hubby over that. I guess it is normal as we are talking about two different people from different family background coming together after marriage. After the dinner, we took a short walk to the MRT station, before taking a group photo and heading our seperate ways hom

Update about My NS Pal, Jason

I decided not to stay back too late last night at work yesterday as my OT hrs has exceeded my own limits for this month. Since mum was not cooking, I decided to have my dinner first before I go & visit my NS pal, because it has been about 3 weeks since I last visited him. I am glad to say that he has improved tremenously. I heard from the staff nurse that the doctor is trying to remove or change the phelgm tube attached to his throat if his situation stabilises in around mid Aug. It seems that my pal will spend his birthday in hospital this year. Elaine mei has volunteered to do up his birthday card for him, while I will gather all our friends to sign on the card. I hope to get as many friends to sign as possible, so as to show our support for him to get well soon. I just hope that he gets up on his feet soon.

Congrats to Curryegg & Get Well Soon for Rebecca

Image
Firstly, I would like to congrat Curryegg for getting into her dream course in consuelling. I believe that she can do it. Secondly, I would like to wish my sister, Rebecca to get well soon. It seems like the flu virus refused to go away after staying a week plus with her. Do take care & drink lots of water.

Receiving the Outstanding Volunteer Award from Mrs Tan Chee Koon Chairman of NVPC Receiving the Supporting Organisation Award from Comptroller of Income Tax, Mr Moses Lee As promised in my blog entry dated 14 June 2007, here are the photos for the VES Appreciation Ceremony as some of you have feedbacked to me that the photos which my brother took were pretty blur. I wish to thank Cynthia & Rena for their fast response to my request. I look forward to working with you all again next year. Thanks for your compliments about my work this year.

Dinner With Client

Image
I was hoping that my dinner was home cooked food today after eating out for Fri & Sat, but mum was still not back from somewhere at 8pm. My bro, dad & me were getting hungry. The worst part was she didn't bring her hp. This was when it really got to my & dad's nerves, as mum had fried too many fishes for lunch and there were many left. We wonder how we were going to deal with the fishes. Sensing that we were hungry, dad ordered my brother to buy some food back. This was when mum decided to be back. My dad still asked my bro to get some food back from the coffee shop. Just as I was about to tuck in my dinner, my client, E decided to call and ask me out for dinner as he needed to collect some documents from me. I just discarded the food that my brother bought and took the documents out before joining him for dinner at Ang Mo Kio Ave 10. We ordered some basic dishes. Although I was hungry, I let him start the ball rolling as he was the paymaster. Had a filling dinner,

There's No Place I'd Rather Be - NDP Theme Song 2007

I was listening to YES 933 FM on Thu when Chongqing & Peifen was playing the NDP Theme Song for this year. It is performed by one of my favourite local artiste, Kit Chan. Although she has retired from show business, I feel that she is still very good. For the lyrics & song, please click here.

Fantasic 4- Rise of the Silver Surfer

Image
Marvel's first family of superheroes, The Fantastic Four, meets their greatest challenge yet in FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER as the enigmatic, intergalactic herald, The Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction. As the Silver Surfer races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben must unravel the mystery of the Silver Surfer and confront the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom, before all hope is lost. I went to watch this movie with Elaine, Terence & Stella just a while ago, but not embracing a full day of activities today. I was back in office for a second Sat today, therefore breaking the record on the amount of OT that I have worked for the whole of last year, since I joined the company in 2004. I didn't want to go back at first as I was asked by my lady boss to attend a GST seminar in the afternoon, but the thought of the clutter at my side shelf of my workdesk dragged me out of my bed. I thought I could cl

IRAS Volunteer Efile Appreciation Ceremony

Image
The day had arrived for me to collect my Outstanding Volunteer Award for the IRAS Volunteer E-filing session today. The award has a special meaning to me this year, as I didn't really expect to win the award, as I felt that I was only doing what I can despite the difficulties that I faced at the E-Club when doing my volunteer service this year. At the same time, I was there to collect the Appreciation Award for the E-Club as well, as the RC vice-chairman, Mr Poon has nominated me to help them to collect the award for them. I would to express my thanks to Ms Clara Ng, Ms Rena Soon & Cynthia of IRAS Corporate Communications Dept for making some special arrangements to my seat so as to make it easier for me to collect the awards. Rena was saying that she hopes to see me next year. Does it mean that I did a good job? I noticed some changes at IRAS since my last visit last year. Now IRAS staff has to scan their employee pass through a MRT station-like ez-link card gantry to take a l

Well Wishes for Wendy & Momo

I got a shock as I read Wendy's blog yesterday. It was the last thing that I expected to be seen written in there. Just hope that everything will be ok. Some things just always come when you least expected. Also, here to wish Momo best of luck for her tax & law papers today.

Well Wishes for Elaine's Mum

Image
Although I was in a foul mood yesterday, I felt heartened by the fact that Elaine mei & her mum appreciated the get well hamper I got for them. The hamper was to wish her mum a speedy recovery from her operation. At least some people really appreciates what you are doing for them! May auntie get well soon!

Since When I Have To Take Charge of So Many Babies?

Today was really a bad day in office. I had a nasty scolding by my boss for not e-filing GST Returns for one of our clients. As most of you know that I am basically a tax assistant in charge of personal & corporate tax matters for 2 audit firms. An additional function of adminstrator was added on late last year, thanks to the launch of "My Tax Portal by IRAS. The b*** & J were asked to attend the course with me at that time. I thought my boss had wanted them to assist me in this new function. It ended up they didn't help me with anything. It became my new baby after my two babies (i.e. the two audit firms that I am working for, all the corporate & personal tax clients of the 2 firms come under my purview.) E-filing of GST started in March this year. I was not given any instructions that I will be handling e-filing of GST by my bosses, so if my assumption did not serve me wrongly, e-filing of GST should continue to be an accounting function. Today, I wonder what got

Back to Work Officially

Although I went back to work on Sat, today is the 1st official working day for me, since I do not usually work on a Sat. I was glad that I made the decision to hop back to work on Sat as there were a lot of unexpected things today. Is it because its a Monday? Or some people just like to spoil people's Monday with their blues? Stayed in office for my 2nd longest time today, left about 7.30pm from my office alone. A lot of work is still uncleared. Can anyone help me?

Mail from a Long Lost Sec Sch Schoolmate

Interesting Drama Serials on Ch 8 & U

Image
Recently, these 2 drama serials have been capturing my attention, making me stayed glued to my TV from 9pm - 11pm on weekdays. I am always joined by my parents when watching the drama serials. 隔世追凶 on Ch U on weeknights 10pm to 11pm, stars Guo Jinan & Chen Huishan. The story is about a police officer(Guo Jinan) who will ask his dead father, who lives in 1984 for help through the phone when he meets with teething problems solving his cases. The son is living in 2004. The son has a girlfriend(Chen Huishan) , who was left paralysed after a childhood car accident. She feels inferior having him as his boyfriend. The police officer, sensing that, decided to ask his dad to help her change her fate. Because of the change, many previous cases in 2004 had a different ending and his girlfriend has been changed too. What has happened to Chen Huishan then? This is the interesting part that has kept me glued for the next 8 epsiodes. 爱特别的你 on Ch 8 on weeknights 9pm -10pm, stars Joanne Peh &

Visit To AMK Hub

Image
I finally found time to visit AMK Hub yesterday, after mum suggested we dine out for dinner. I think the novelty of the new air-conditioned bus interchange cum shopping centre has not waned yet as there were many people queuing at the eateries & resturants there. Some of the resturants & eateries there include:- Fish & Co Dian Xiao Er Soup Resturant Ichiban Sushi There is a food court in the shopping centre as well, but it was just as crowded. In the end, we settled for Ichiban Sushi (which is incidentially the resturant where my ex-tenant is working as a cook) after mum complained that the prices for Soup Resturant were too expensive. I was so hungry that I started taking the sushi from the conveyor belt and started to eat immediately after that. Mum was shocked that I was eating so fast and furious. I think I finished about 13 plates of sushi, 1/3 of the beef which my mum ordered and 1胶子. She said that I ate like the sushi was free of charge. I guess the hunger was due t

Face To Face With Former Speaker of Parliament

I was back at office at about 10am today to clear my desk. It was not a surprise to see the pile of file on my desk. My boss and the audit manager was already there when I reached there. Due to the business, I only realised that it was time for lunch at about 1.30pm. I decided to settle at the foodcourt since I had to go back to clear more stuff later. My boss was to join me for lunch a short while later. He started to ask me about my exam. whether it was finished. I replied him that it was over already yesterday. This goes to show a lot of care & concern from my bosses to their staff. Just last week, I was asked by lady boss about what my exam paper was all about, and why I chose the paper. Over at the next table sat a big group of people. There was this Indian chap who greeted my boss by his name. Then he asked another person, who happened to know my boss too. Once that guy's face turned, I knew he was the former Speaker of Parliament, Mr Tan Su Khoon, as the Indian chap had

I Wonder How?

Image
I just wish to express my thanks again to all my friends who have wished me good luck. Another 4 sms came through after I have published the previous post. Thanks to Rebec mei, Darling, Peggy & Elaine (classmate). The paper was pretty demanding, I must say, and whatever my lecturer had spotted on didn't really come out. The good thing is I did the revision questions before I went in, so the shock was not that bad, but still I didn't manage to finish the paper. But I believe I have done my best and I believe that miracles do happen. Mum was asking me to go chanting with her this Sunday, to pray for the leniency of the marker.I think I will just follow her. Wish to thank Stella as well, after she heard that I was going back to office to work tomorrow. She was telling me that I looked tired when she saw me at our last meeting. She was trying to persuade me to stay home and rest as she said that it was difficult to find so much energy to work after such a difficult paper. But I

I will be attending the performance in support of my sister, Rebec , who will be performing on 7 July 2007. I hope some of you are able to attend the performance as well. The tickets are quite cheap. Details here. Actually I am very nervous now, maybe the thought of not passing is coming to me. Thanks for the sms messages from Tammy, Richard, Von, Stella, Caifeng, Darling & Wendy, where they either wished me good luck or try to calm my nerves by saying I can do it. Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. Not forgeting my brother, Shionge & Dalicia too for wishing me the best of luck for my paper. Got to go & prepare for my trip to Expo already. Ciao!!!

Change of Padlocks

Image
Mum decided to change the lock of my main door as one of my ex-tenants have failed to return my house keys after he & his wife decided to move out last week. This was for a safety measure. This former tenant of mine had rented my study room. I had told my mum that it was not very conveient for me to do some of my work in the early morning or late at night, but my mum had the final say, so I guessed I could not do anything about it. I think my mum did hint to him that I was finding inconveient for me and my brother to do our stuff. This tenant was ok in character, but it seems like he thought that the room should be rent free, which was something that my mum was unhappy about. So after staying for about 2 months, he decided to move out, citing that there is lack of space for him and his wife to sleep. So to me it is a piece of good news, just that need to change the lock.

Good Luck To Those Taking ACCA Papers

I like to wish the following people "Good Luck" for their ACCA papers, starting today. Wilson (colleague) - Taking Paper 3.5, 3.6 & 3.7 Tammy - Taking 3.4 & 3.3 Elaine - Taking 3.3 & 2.6 Peggy - Taking 2.6 Richard - Taking 3.3 Cindy (ex classmate) - Taking 2.6 Cindy (Elaine's mei best friend) - Taking 2.3 & 2.5 Sherlyn (client) - Taking 1.3 & 2.3 Von - Taking 3.3, 3.5,3.6, 3.7 Myself - Taking 3.3 I guess practising past year papers is better than going through the notes again. I really hope to pass my paper as I don't want to be stuck with the options when the new syallabus come in on Dec 2007. Therefore, I hope the same for my friends too.

7 Hour Revision Day

Image
I met up with Von for a 7 hour revision day at FTC yesterday. I was quite surprised that I exceeded what I wanted to cover in school today. Maybe, like what mum said, having a friend to study with you is a way of motivating myself. During the course of the revision, which I tried the various past year questions due to the lack of time and the exam questions are linked to various topics and not just a single topic on its own, I find that the examiners really had the brain power to link up the questions so well. Von asked me what actually happened between me & AF the other day. I told her what happened in detail. She agreed that the AF was in the wrong too. I told Von that if not for Caifeng, I guess I will not want to see her too. Like what D said, a 10 year friend should not be passing such hurtful comments everytime when we met up. If a friend always do this to you, I guess you can just ignore her. She needs to lose some friends to let her learn her lesson. After that, mum got me
