Had been busy for the past few days due to the soccer matches. Caught Germany - Ecuador match, Portgual -Mexico match, Italy-Czech Republic match & a bit of France v Togo match. An update of what's going on the past few days with me.

Tuesday

LB was asking why was I keeping the clients' tax files of documents, despite the promise by IRAS that they are converting to an electronic filing & documentation system. I was quite stunned by the question. The new system, even if in place, does not mean that you can do away with all the document filing as the system will slow down due to the number of public listed companies & private limited companies in Singapore. Given the choice, I will still prefer the current system that has all the physical paper documents.

Wednesday

K tendered her resignation. I was surprised that I was the 1st to know, as I was expecting Q to know it first as they were ex-colleagues. I was not surprised by the fact that she found a better prospect, as she mentioned to me before that she was not really happy with the bonus given. I guess she didn't get any pay increment as well, just like me. She was asked to do audit besides her accounting jobs.

Friday

Met up with Richard, Rebecca & Jason at Marina Square for Billy Bombers. Rebec was a bit sad that Huiyu can't come at the last minute. So it was 3 bodyguards and a gal again. All of us had full course dinner. I felt that it was good & quite worth it, considering the serving and food that we had.

Went for KTV next, and sang till 2.30am. Was surprised that it was raining as we waited for our cabs. My mood was spoiled by the fact that mum smsed & called me to get home at about 2am. I was angered by the sms, " Your dad drive taxi, not back yet, then u so enjoy". My mind was a blank as I felt that I am already 27 & I knew how to take care of myself, and furthermore, I was using my own money to enjoy. I am not spending a single cent of my parents' money.

My three friends were surprised that I was still being controlled, despite of my age. Got to thank Jason for helping me to tell my mum about the outing last nite, when she called.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. After the dinner, we indulged ourselves in some German wine before we were asked to pose for photos. After that, we adjourned to Harry’s Bar for a drink and chat session. Jonathan was so afraid

My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
