Kukop Trip Latest Info

Dear friends
I just got the latest info of the planned trip from the tour agent. Here are the details.
Kukop Trip
  • Trip Date - 5 Aug 2006 (Sat) - 6 Aug (Sun). Time of departure should be 7am. Pickup point to be confirmed. Please let me know your preference if u wish to go via Tuas or Woodlands Checkpoint.
  • 5 meals will be provided - 2 lunches, 1 BBQ dinner, 1 tea break & 1 breakfast.
  • The breakfast on 5 Aug 2006 is on self expense.
  • After the BBQ dinner, is free time activity. You may wish to bring ur own VCDs & DVDs for singing KTV. Other activities like card playing or ice breaker games may be planned.
  • The departure time should be after lunch on 6 Aug 2006. Please let me know your preferred time of departure.
  • The cost of the trip inclusive of the boat ticket is $85.
I hope all of u can make it & you are welcome to bring your friends along if u wish. My brother should be coming along

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. It can be afternoon or nite show, but afternoon is preferred as I would like to avoid the crowd shopping for CNY goodies & clothes. I would like to call the following people. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
