Operation R2 - Buddy's Birthday

I was activated by Richard a month ago to help him out for his big birthday bash. It was his first major birthday celebration with such a big group of people. 12 people in total, most of them know him thru my introduction. I think some people were pretty surprised that there was such a big crowd!!! I guess Richard has a great personality, so he was able to get hold of so many people. He kept thanking me for helping to plan the bash.

Dinner was at 6.30pm. Most of us were on time except for a few, who had events before that. Just a quick look at the people invited. I will start from the near end (left-right)

I can see that the birthday boy was very pleased to see that everyone was able to interact with each other without prompting and clicked so well. I think some of us actually exchanged MSN contacts to continue contacting each other after this gathering. He was to tell me later, he felt that the gathering was a success and was hoping that mine will be one success as well. I have more or less decided on where mine will be held. I shall not reveal till the time is nearer as it is early days yet.

It is always good to see that everyone was enjoying themselves throughout the 4.5 hour dinner. Personally I had good time knowing my friends better, especially new updates from them. I had a good time chatting with Flo & Lorraine as well.

Left with Caifeng, Huiyu, Lorraine, Jimmy after the dinner, while Richard, Rebec & Jason continued with their Round 2. They wanted me to join but I was too tired after returning home late from my musical yesterday. Hope that they have a good time.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
