New HP for Paul

I was still bugged by the problem of "limited service" given by my ex phone, Samsung E640. This was despite that I have changed my SIM card at Singtel yesterday. The super eating power of the hp batt & the inability to receive calls the whole day was the last straw for me.

Since mum said she was not cooking dinner for today, I decided to pop by Suntec City & see if I could get some bargains, since I got a good price for my birthday present, the E640.

I boarded Service 16 to Suntec City. I was surprised to see my bus driver friend, Ricky driving the bus. It has been 9 mths since I last saw him. He's a father again, this time to a daughter. I was telling him, it is good (好） as he managed to fulfill his wish to have a daughter. Before I alighted, I told him to meet up with me on his off day, which was this Sunday.

Went to the new Samsung shop at E-life and take a look. The price of what I wanted was too steep at this shop and the trade in value was super low. So decided to go to the next one. The price didn't attract me either as it was b4 GST. It was a short while before I got the best offer from the 3rd shop as the trade in value was high and the price was cheaper than the other 2 shops.

This is a hp which relies on your sense of touch. Still getting used to it. The hp is in charging mode now.

House Visiting & AVietnamese Girlfriend For Me??

I started my day early today at 8.30am. I was helping my mum with the flower decoration & slept at 1am last night. Had received CNY sms messages from my ex colleague, LS, Angela, Rebecca, Darling, Caifeng, Huixuan, Huiyu, Mac, Jaslyn, Joey, Candy , Kelvin, Rich & Mike. Thanks for all your well wishes, my friends. The 1st stop was at my grandma's place, which we were lucky to get a cab almost immediately after waiting for just a short while. In the ride, my mum & I were chatting casually about some issues that happened in S'pore recently, when we actually touched on the old cobbler cheating Vietnamese gals to be his bride. The cabby told us an incident that happened to his friend. His friend, a guy aged 39 had married a Thai gal aged 23 some years ago. Soon after, they became parents to a baby boy. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
