City Harvest Church Chirstmas Service

Wendy & I were invited to attend the Chirstmas service at City Harvest Church ( Expo branch) yesterday.

For those of u who know me well enough will know the reasons behind my fear for the religion and why I hate people to talk about religion or force me to attend this service or another particular religion service.

The reason why i decided to attend the service was

  1. A chance for me to get away from my work stress that I have been facing.
  2. Feeling the need to respect my sis' wishes as she wanted to share the joy of Chirstmas with me.

I must say I didn't regret attending the candlelight service as I managed to catch a funny drama protrayal about the birth of Jesus Chirst & how ravishingly younger Pastor Kong looked, even though the last time I saw him was 2 years ago.

After the service, we went to Suntec City Swensens Resturant & had our dinner before taking a short walk & calling it a nite.

I wish to thank Elaine for inviting me to the service.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
