Deepest Condolences to Serangoon E Club Manager's Family

I was shocked & surprised when I saw this email in my mailbox just now.


Dear Friends & Family,

Our heartfelt thanks for the most kind support rendered during our time of bereavement.

A Memorial Service will be held for our father on Sunday, 7th Jan 2007. We will be providing lunch at 12pm to 1pm at Block 123 void deck infront of Contact 123 IT Centre.

We would like to put together a slide show to showcase his life. As such, we would greatly appreciate if you could provide us with pictures and any thoughts or memories you would like to share with us, about Mr Naga. Mr Naga, the Serangoon E-Club Manager, whom I had worked with in the IRAS e-filing volunteer session for the past two years had passed away suddenly last week.

He was the one who nominated me for the Outstanding Volunteer Award this year for my assistance in the e-filing session. I am very thankful to him.

Since his family requested a short write up on him, I wrote this for him.

Dear Ms Mahes

I am sorry to hear about the sudden demise of Mr Naga today.

Having worked together with Mr Naga for the past two years during the IRAS e-filing sessions, I must say he is a friendly, caring and helpful person to work with.

Like your family members, I am deeply saddened by his sudden passing.

I will be attending the memorial service on 7 Jan 2007.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
