My Birthday Dinner @ V8 Cafe

Before I go into what is happening in the slideshow above, I went to visit Jason with Stella yesterday. We can see that he is getting better and are quite happy with the progress that he has been making. He is now able to move his limbs after hearing instructions.

After visiting him, it was time for me and Stella to go to the next event, my birthday dinner @ V8 Cafe @ Bugis Junction. Although the guest list was quite small for this round, I hope my guests enjoyed themselves. I really have to thank them for coming & their gifts. I think I will find some use for them.

  2. Lorraine - Thanks for the wallet that u shared with my pal, & your pressence despite the fact that we only met once & the jokes too.

  4. Rong Cheng Didi - Thanks for making the effort to pop by as I know Expo is a distance from Bugis
  5. Richard - Thanks for your pressence, I am sorry u had to postpone your training because of me.
  6. Elaine mei - Thanks for the belt and the cake with Wendy mei
  7. Wendy mei - Thanks for the card & your company to bring me home due to the pain of my muscle pull.

Alas, there was a person who flew aeroplane. This person will let me have a bad impression of him if I get to see him soon. Because he made Elaine mei a promise that he could not keep, and spoiled her mood for the whole nite. I could sense that she was very upset and was going to cry.

My message to him is very simple:-

Zuo Xin, If you have made a promise to your gf, u should have made a point to keep and not break it. I can tell that this sister of mine is serious about you.

If u had something on yesterday, u could have told her that you can't make it, I am sure she won't force you to come to my birthday.

Hope u dun mind my directness.

There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. It can be afternoon or nite show, but afternoon is preferred as I would like to avoid the crowd shopping for CNY goodies & clothes. I would like to call the following people. House Visiting & AVietnamese Girlfriend For Me??

I started my day early today at 8.30am. I was helping my mum with the flower decoration & slept at 1am last night. Had received CNY sms messages from my ex colleague, LS, Angela, Rebecca, Darling, Caifeng, Huixuan, Huiyu, Mac, Jaslyn, Joey, Candy , Kelvin, Rich & Mike. Thanks for all your well wishes, my friends. The 1st stop was at my grandma's place, which we were lucky to get a cab almost immediately after waiting for just a short while. In the ride, my mum & I were chatting casually about some issues that happened in S'pore recently, when we actually touched on the old cobbler cheating Vietnamese gals to be his bride. The cabby told us an incident that happened to his friend. His friend, a guy aged 39 had married a Thai gal aged 23 some years ago. Soon after, they became parents to a baby boy.
