Santa Paul At Work

For the first time in my working life, I decided to get Chirstmas gift for all my colleagues, since my secretarial dept colleague, L and audit dept manager, P, always get Chirstmas pressies for all of us.
But since Santa Paul is on a tight budget this month, as I had to cover my ACCA course fees & subscription fees, I got the colleagues 2 boxes of Ferraro Rocher chocolates ( Those 16 pieces per box) and left it at the pantry for them to share.
But to my surprise, my colleagues still had something to say.
L (says jokingly): U should have got something else ma, since I got them chocolates already.
Q & receptionist: Why u buy us chocolates?
The rest of them had the courtesy to say thank you.
Maybe next Chirstmas, if I am still in the company, I may just give them an apple each, since they like to talk so much. Haha.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
