CNY 2007 - Day 1 & 2

This Year of The Pig, I was still being bomarded by my 阿姨s and my dad's 舅母about me not having a girlfriend. Mum decided to join in the bomardment as well, saying she craves for a daughter in-law. Oh my goodness, I have anticipated that to happen. My brother said that I made the correct move by not breathing out a word that I am chasing somebody, otherwise I would be in deep trouble.

Talking about her, I decided to call her today just to wish her a "Happy New Year" after she failed to respond to my smses. I didn't want to contact her the past few days as she did mention that she was going to be very busy. She managed to answer the call, and wished me a "Happy New Year" as well. We chatted for a while as she said she was on her way to house visiting. I asked her if she got the gift I gave her, without asking her for an answer. I got a postive answer from her. She was to congrat me via sms for passing my Financial Management paper. She also wished me to have a happy & enjoyable new year as well.

This year, my cousins decided to take photos at my house when they visited my place on the 1st day of CNY. They always pay a visit to my house on the 1st day as my mum is their 大姐(eldest sister). However, the visit will usually be in the evening, as we need to pay a visit to my 祖母(paternal grandma) in the early part of the day. This year, I was able to give my granny more in her red packet. Although some people feel that I should not have give to her, but I feel that as I am working, I should be happy that I am able to give her, since she does not have many years left and she has been in ill health recently.

There are some dishes/ foodstuff that I always look forward when I am at some of relatives places.

祖母- 咸菜鸭汤

二姨 - 肉骨茶，虾面汤( I will have it tomorrow at her grandson's lunar birthday!!!)

My dad's 三舅-杏仁豆腐

三姨- 火锅.

I think I really need to excercise after all the eating.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. After the dinner, we indulged ourselves in some German wine before we were asked to pose for photos. After that, we adjourned to Harry’s Bar for a drink and chat session. Jonathan was so afraid

My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
