CNY Visiting - Day 3

Today, my family went to my 3rd Aunt's place (三姨）house for steamboat lunch & lo hei. We were the last to arrive as my mum went to run some errands for the house.

After that, we went to my cousin's place, which is the next block next to my aunt. My cousin and her husband, I must say are very thoughtful. They bought a flat close their mum's place. I must say their love nest is simply furnished, with not much furniture in the whole house. What my cousin said is true. It is easier for cleaning up if there is not much furniture.

After that, my 3rd Aunt, my parents and I took a cab to my 2nd Aunt's place to enjoy the feast that he had put up for her grandson. It is her grandson's lunar birthday today. Mum & I only stayed for a short while as my friend, Caifeng wanted to pop by my house for a house visit as she & her hubby could not make it on Sat. At the same time, she and her hubby wanted to visit Jason at the hospital.

Caifeng & Kelvin arrived at about 4.30pm. We had a 45 minute chat session, before Kelvin drove us to visit Jason. My mum decided to join us for the visit as well. We managed to find out from the nurse more about his condition today.

  1. His physiotherapy is going well. We heard from the nurse that he likes to sit on the chair for his physio. He can sit for a period of 5-6 hrs.
  2. We noticed that his phelgm is still quite a lot and the nurse said that he is still not able to breathe on his own without the help of the tube. If the tube is removed for more than 20 mins, his face will always turn blue and he would need a tank of oxygen immediately.
  3. His bed can't be moved up as he will feel a sharp pain in his back, so we have to put the bed lying flat. This is due to a protuding bone in his back.
  4. He will not be as mobile as all of us, even if he gets well. We were all at a loss for words when we heard this.

All that we can do now is pray that a miracle happens for him. I still believe he can be well soon.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. After the dinner, we indulged ourselves in some German wine before we were asked to pose for photos. After that, we adjourned to Harry’s Bar for a drink and chat session. Jonathan was so afraid

My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
