Visit To AMK Hub

I finally found time to visit AMK Hub yesterday, after mum suggested we dine out for dinner. I think the novelty of the new air-conditioned bus interchange cum shopping centre has not waned yet as there were many people queuing at the eateries & resturants there.

Some of the resturants & eateries there include:-
  • Fish & Co
  • Dian Xiao Er
  • Soup Resturant
  • Ichiban Sushi

There is a food court in the shopping centre as well, but it was just as crowded. In the end, we settled for Ichiban Sushi (which is incidentially the resturant where my ex-tenant is working as a cook) after mum complained that the prices for Soup Resturant were too expensive.

I was so hungry that I started taking the sushi from the conveyor belt and started to eat immediately after that. Mum was shocked that I was eating so fast and furious. I think I finished about 13 plates of sushi, 1/3 of the beef which my mum ordered and 1胶子. She said that I ate like the sushi was free of charge. I guess the hunger was due to working the whole day yesterday.

After dinner, we took a short tour at AMK Hub, before calling it a night as my brother & I were very tired from our work and attending church service respectively.

House Visiting & AVietnamese Girlfriend For Me??

I started my day early today at 8.30am. I was helping my mum with the flower decoration & slept at 1am last night. Had received CNY sms messages from my ex colleague, LS, Angela, Rebecca, Darling, Caifeng, Huixuan, Huiyu, Mac, Jaslyn, Joey, Candy , Kelvin, Rich & Mike. Thanks for all your well wishes, my friends. The 1st stop was at my grandma's place, which we were lucky to get a cab almost immediately after waiting for just a short while. The cabby told us an incident that happened to his friend. His friend, a guy aged 39 had married a Thai gal aged 23 some years ago. Soon after, they became parents to a baby boy. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
