Half Happy Day

I messaged Ms C this morning, while on my way to work to see if she got the flowers and chocolate which her colleague collected on her behalf the other day.

Quite soon, I got a reply saying that I do like it very much, thanks again.

I always feel happy to have made someone's day a little brighter.

Wonder why the b*** & my lady boss enjoy spoiling my happy moment. First it was the b***, who asked why I didn't tell her to review the submissions for the companies without any activities. Logic tells you that there is no computation or calculation involved, just need to fill up the forms with zero & cross the relevant boxes. Do you need to see this? If I show you, you say is a waste of time, so I gave it to my boss.

My lady boss has remarked that Dec was not a good time for me to take exam. Just remembered what pal was smsing me something similar to what she said the other day too. I felt like telling my boss, if you had not held back the accounts & changed my workflow, I wouldn't be rushing like mad now. I don't even have enough sleep, let alone study.

The last thing I need was my mum to nag about my job hunt and my work. I told her I rather do something that I enjoy doing or am familar with, then explore a new area. I feel that Singapore employers do not give mid career switcher a chance at all sometimes.

She also kept harping that praying would help me in finding a job. This is something that my brother & I do not agree. For me, it is just another method of destressing. Basically, I go because I wish to spend quality time with her as we are all busy working nowadays.

Glad to say that I have strong support for my birthday buffet that is coming up in 19 days. I am happy that most of them are coming. My family is equally supportive too, but told me & bro that we are to clean up my messy house to welcome you guys. My cousins may be joining in too, so there may be about 30 people on my side.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
