My Christmas Eve

I was up early even though I was not working today as I had an interview at Raffles Place. I thought the interview was going to take me 2 hours at most but it ended up being close to 4 hrs as I had to wait for the boss to conduct the second half of the interview. The wait was about 1.5 hrs. I was quite pissed by his attitude, as he asked me why I did not put any of my boss' references for the application. I just felt that it was not necessary as I am very afraid that my past & current employers may put up a bad reference. Not only that, I do not want my current boss to know that I am looking for a job.

If the interview had been 2 hrs or shorter, I could have went to Plaza Singapura or Marina Square to catch an early movie, before the crowd was out at around early afternoon. I had wanted to catch Alvin the Chimpmunk or the R21 version of Lust Caution.

Because of the delay of the interview, I had to hide in the Citylink MPH bookstore for about 2 hrs as I waited for Darling for our lunch appointment. She wanted to pass me my birthday card & gift.

Met up with her and her colleague, Steph & Andy. Lunch was at Qi Ji at Marina Square. It was my first time there. I must say the food was not bad. I had Nasi Lemak. Darling had mee rebus. Steph had laksa. We also ordered Towhoo Goreng & Popiah, where we shared.

After lunch, we went for a walk at Suntec, before we parted at the MRT station. I was accompained by Darling as her house is a station away from mine.

Would like to thank Darling for her wordy birthday card and cash gift. The words written meant a lot to me as well. I hope our friendship will go on, like water flowing from the spring (细水长流).

Had Christmas dinner at Jumbo Serangoon at Serangoon Garden Country Club. This yearly event is organised by my dad's church. It was boring as you guys would know I hate this religion stuff. I was just there for the food. Just to say the standard of the food has dropped. It is not as good as last time.

you didn't put any of your boss as your preferences? they don't like you? i don't know are your chances. at the end, they will end up calling your boss itself.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
