Where Is My Successor?

My boss was hinting to me that she is having difficuities to find a person to take over my duties once I leave the company in 15 days time.

I told her that I should be writing down what are the things to look out for when my successor takes over.

My mum was saying that actually now is the best time to find a person. Her guess is that my boss may have problems matching the remuneration package on the market now.

I am telling myself not to be soft hearted as I will lose out on a better prospect and better pay if I should stay. I also do not want to get sued in court as my appointment letter is signed.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
