Eventful Sat Before The Start of New Job

Mum asked me to tag along for her praying session just now in the afternoon. Time flies as it has been a month since I last stepped into Tampines Soka Centre. It was a relaxing half an hour praying session for me today. Maybe my work stress is gone as I have left the previous job on Fri.

The session was short as

  1. Dad had invited his church friends over to our house for visiting. Lucky I was not around, otherwise they would be preaching to me about God again.
  2. Had arranged to meet up with Elaine, Ter, Stella, Richard, Christine, Wendy & Chris at Marina Square in the evening. It has been about 3 months since we last met up.

Was there early as I thought I could "chop" the seats at Seoul Garden, the designated meeting place. Richard was to join me shortly. Unfortunately, Seoul Garden was filled with the dinner crowd. Dinner was switched to KBox at the "mum & daughter" team suggestion.

We were joined by Stella's sister, Cherie for this makan cum singing session. I am glad that this session is suggested as

  1. I had wanted to relax myself through my favourite hobby, singing as I have been going through the rubbish at work for the past week.
  2. I got to hear Ter, Chris, Cherie & Christine, singing for the first time. Some of their singing voices are very good. I leave it for you to guess who are the good singers from these 4 people.
  3. It has been about more than 13 months since I last sang. My last session was at Elaine's birthday last year.
  4. I need to practise for the Jeff Chang concert that I am going in 2 weeks time. I am glad that I managed to get a chance to do that. I also got to know that the tickets are about 90% sold. I hope it will be a good concert. Tickets at $98 & $128 are still available at Sistic.

After the 3 hour session, we went home seperately. I must say it was a fun and enjoyable session before my new challenge.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
