Recently, my audit partners decided to increase the staff strength of the audit and accounts department. It was difficult for them to get new staff nowadays as it appears that Singaporeans shun away from jobs in CPA firms.

They have since employed 2 Indonesian auditors, 1 Mymmar national as accounting staff. I noticed that 1 of the auditors has a similar condition as mine, walking with an awkward gait. This shows that my audit partner are like his parents, who employed people based on merit. This is unlike most firms in Singapore who looks at the appearance of potential hires first and reject them on their first glance.

There are some firms, who would employ us, but underpay us or take us for granted later. Just wish to know what is your views working with people that are physically challenged?

There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. House Visiting & AVietnamese Girlfriend For Me??

I started my day early today at 8.30am. I was helping my mum with the flower decoration & slept at 1am last night. Had received CNY sms messages from my ex colleague, LS, Angela, Rebecca, Darling, Caifeng, Huixuan, Huiyu, Mac, Jaslyn, Joey, Candy , Kelvin, Rich & Mike. Thanks for all your well wishes, my friends. The 1st stop was at my grandma's place, which we were lucky to get a cab almost immediately after waiting for just a short while. In the ride, my mum & I were chatting casually about some issues that happened in S'pore recently, when we actually touched on the old cobbler cheating Vietnamese gals to be his bride. The cabby told us an incident that happened to his friend. His friend, a guy aged 39 had married a Thai gal aged 23 some years ago. Soon after, they became parents to a baby boy.
