Mum Meets My Bosses

I was at my manager's father-in law's funeral wake on Saturday. She was quite surprised to see me and my mum as the location of the wake was in the western part of Singapore. My mum and I feel that she has treated me very well, allowing me to learn many things so far at my work here. She is partly the reason that is making me enjoy my stay here.

As we were chatting, my 2 tax partners arrived and greeted us. My manager was surprised to see the both of them as they were not able to see well at night and yet they still made their way there. My boss said that she has known my manager for about 30 over years, therefore it is not nice not to be present after knowing what happened.

The 5 of us had a good time chatting about me and work related issues for close to 3 hours. In fact, my mum and I are quite thankful to my bosses for offering us a lift to Clementi MRT station, when we decided to call it a night.

My boss was saying that my mum is a good mum and I should treasure her and be nice to her today.

yeah, mums are very good about making impressions.

sure of course your boss is going to say your mum is good. is like how everyman tells the girl that's she pretty and shit like that. so much for honesty these days.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
