Mooncake Festival Gathering @ Rockmaster Cafe

I went for this event organised by Michelle of Facebook Singles Group just now. I didn't know there was this place in Marina Square that allows people to have a good chat over some light refreshments & drinks. Once again, have to thank Michelle for organising the event for us and getting the mooncake for us.

I was surprised to see my KTV group mate, Joanathan Teo joining us for the 1st time. He said it was lucky that I was around, otherwise he had to remember 13 names. Since this was my 4th gathering with the group, it has become comfortable, and I also met some new people, like Sharon, Carmen & Alvin.

Have to thank Lennard for giving me the ride home.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. It can be afternoon or nite show, but afternoon is preferred as I would like to avoid the crowd shopping for CNY goodies & clothes. I would like to call the following people. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
