Fun Before Stress Picnic @ ECP

The start of the long weekend was a good one for me as I decided to jon the Singapore Facebook Singles "Fun Before Stress Potluck Picnic" organised by Michelle at ECP yesterday.
After my usual Sat praying session, I made my way down to Parkway Parade for a quick light lunch, before heading to NTUC Fairprice to get the fruits for the picnic. I have to thank my mum for helping me to select the fresh fruits, and Jonathan Teo for agreeing me to meet me at Parkway Parade to help me to carry the fruits to ECP for me.
Took a cab there as it was really sorching hot yesterday. I guess we made the right decision not to walk there, otherwise we would have melted there and then upon reaching ECP.
This event was very fun as I actually knew about 1/3 of the people who came yesterday. Keith, Jonathan, Catherine, Karen, Veronica, Melvin Alan had previously joined me at singing sessions, facebook singles gatherings, and ex NS camp mates. I got to know Jane, Yvonne, Stephen, Roger, Angela, YC, Christine Tan, Simon, Rod, Kok Wee, Henry. We were pleased as we actually helped Michelle break a all time high record of 21 participants. We had a good time eating the great delicious food, like fried bee hoon, pudding, soon kueh. curry puff, sotong and fish balls, otah, "pie kia" pies, donuts, jalibean tarts.
Besides playing Michelle's modified version of "Truth or Dare", we were introduced to a new game by Catherine called "Numbers". A person is supposed to key in a number from 1-100 on his or her hp for the participants to guess. The person who guess the number correctly had to perform a forefeit as instructed by the number setter.
My fellow k group member, Jonathan had to sing twice for his forefeit. Thanks to my idea of making people to sing.
The forefeit that Paul had to do was to kiss the lady beside me on the cheek and act out a running for love scene like in a Qiong Yao novel. I think I really have to thank Alan for the number setting, because I read his mind about the number. Lucky the lady who performed with me the forefeits Jane was sporting too. Poor Karen had to kiss the lamp post for her forefeit.
As night fell, some of them decided to leave early while the rest continued with bowling, followed by a chill out session late into the night.
It was nice knowing new friends yesterday. It has been a long while since I played for a whole day.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. After the dinner, we indulged ourselves in some German wine before we were asked to pose for photos. After that, we adjourned to Harry’s Bar for a drink and chat session. Jonathan was so afraid

My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
