KTV Session @ Top One KTV

The 1st KTV session for the year for the Singing @ K was organised by me yesterday. I would like to thank the 22 people who turned up yesterday. Some of them who signed up could not make it at the last min as they were sick. I just hope Angela, Grace & Lawerence to get well soon.

The session was at a high as there were disco effects in our room and we made use of the room effects to perform some of our songs.

We had quite a number of new people who joined us yesterday for the 1st time. Albert, Hubert, Kay, Danny, Shu Ting, Cesar, Keith & Eric. I hope that they enjoyed themselves.

My apologies to the attendees if you felt shortchanged by rude waiteresses at Top One KTV. I also have heard the feedback about the session being too long for these 2 rounds. I have since passed the message to the next organiser who promised that it will be a shorter session.

I must say that other than the service rendered and the size of the room, the location was very accessible. The lunch served was cheap but a little salty. The best part, the free flow of drinks and 7 hr session for $20, which was what Partyworld & KBox cannot offer.

House Visiting & AVietnamese Girlfriend For Me??

I started my day early today at 8.30am. I was helping my mum with the flower decoration & slept at 1am last night. Had received CNY sms messages from my ex colleague, LS, Angela, Rebecca, Darling, Caifeng, Huixuan, Huiyu, Mac, Jaslyn, Joey, Candy , Kelvin, Rich & Mike. Thanks for all your well wishes, my friends. The 1st stop was at my grandma's place, which we were lucky to get a cab almost immediately after waiting for just a short while. In the ride, my mum & I were chatting casually about some issues that happened in S'pore recently, when we actually touched on the old cobbler cheating Vietnamese gals to be his bride. The cabby told us an incident that happened to his friend. His friend, a guy aged 39 had married a Thai gal aged 23 some years ago. Soon after, they became parents to a baby boy. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
