It was a bad week at work this week as Paul was still nursing his flu and cough, and therefore he had to battle the effects of medication and struggle to get up to work this week. Fortunately, I have managed to build up a “rainy day” savings fund, since I started this job about one year plus ago. Therefore, I didn’t feel very bad about it about having to take a cab to work this week. At least I won’t get to hear people yaking behind my back. Anyway I am not the only one that is dragging myself to work everyday as my young boss is also having the same syptoms as me. I guessed hers is much worse than mine, but she still came.

This week, that person made life difficuit for my dept again. I wondered how he obtained his NTU qualification and working experience. If you don’t even bother to reference your working papers, then please don’t bother give us your working file. You are making people cleaning up your s**** for you. I feel so sorry for my new colleague who has to clear your rubbish, even though she does not have experience in the area. If you don’t want me to say about you, please clean up your act.

I managed to get myself the “Home” kit of my favourite team, Manchester United last night after seeing it at Plaza Singapura. I also managed to get a new pouch and a screen protector for my new phone. The holder, which came with the phone when I first bought it was a little unfriendly as I had to pull it out when I had make or take calls. The screen protector was to protect my screen from further fingerprints.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. After the dinner, we indulged ourselves in some German wine before we were asked to pose for photos. After that, we adjourned to Harry’s Bar for a drink and chat session. Jonathan was so afraid

My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
