Movie Saturday & Music Sunday

I had a prior movie date with Sis Jas and Bro Jonathan to catch Sherlock Holmes at the Grand Cathay on Saturday. The movie had to be a night one as Jas was working in the day. This meant that I was able to enjoy my dinner with my parents at home. It has been a while since my dad whipped up a storm in the kitchen. The dish of the day was steamed crabs, which I thoroughly enjoyed with the salad that my mum had prepared.

The movie, I felt was quite funny and interesting. Personally, I would give it a 4 out of 5 rating.

Sunday was a hectic but enjoyable day for me. I was out in the morning with my mum for our usual weekly praying session at Tampines Soka Centre, before we headed to Bedok Food Centre for lunch, where I had my all-time favourite mutton soup, before heading to Andrina’s place for a KTV session with Jonathan, David and Lance.

After the session, we headed to Music Dreamer Live Café (爱情海) at Marina Square. I have been wanting to head down to this place since I heard of it some years ago, but always did not have the chance to. Although the food served was not that fantastic, but it is certainly a good place to relax, if you are a person who enjoys music. It was an enjoyable first time experience for me at the café. I would like to thank Andrina for recommending this place and bringing us to the café. I managed to take a photo with the singers after their 3-hour performance. I would like to thank the singers for being so obliging with the photo.

Here are some of the features of the café.

1. You are required to order a minimum of $12 of food or drinks in the café for each person.

2. You can make a dedication of the song that you wish to hear and the performers will usually oblige if they have the lyrics and if they do know how to sing the requested song.

3. There are 2 special nights in a month, whereby the stage will be open to the patrons of the café. The partons may go up on stage after deciding on the song they wish to sing, and the band will play the song. It is like singing in the KTV, but without the lyrics or it is better known as unplugged version.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
