Early Morning Check Up & KTV Session
I was up quite early, even though it was a Saturday, as I had to do a medical checkup for an insurance plan that I bought recently for my retirement planning.
You must be wondering why I decide to get the plan so early, even though I am only 30 years old. I have made some calculations beforehand and taken note that I needed to have a substantial amount for retirement considering the high cost of living in Singapore now. It can only get more expensive, rather than cheaper, so the decision was taken to buy now, rather than later.
The checkup was a long wait for me. I waited for about an hour before I was called up. I hated the repetitive questions that was asked about my existing medical condition. So I just hope that they could take me in without any conditions.
The long wait nearly caused me to be late for my group KTV gathering today. Luckily, my insurance agent, Linda gave me a ride to Kovan MRT, so that I could take a connecting train to Harbourfront MRT for my singing session at Vivo City Partyworld.
I had lunch with Paul, Ann, Alex & Jonathan Teo at Seah Imm Hawker Centre, before we met Belinda at the MRT station. We had our desert at MacDonald's at Harbourfront Centre before heading to our KTV session at Partyworld Vivo City.
This new Partyworld Branch is a good branch, with a good view of Resorts World Sentosa. The management was also quite accommodating to our needs, giving us the 5 rooms that we needed. Although the rooms were not of side by side, the arrangement was still okay with me and Jonathan as we managed to liaise with them for a proper headcount before the billing. The only drawback was one of the rooms air-conditioning was not cold enough, and people were sweating as they sang.
I tried several songs for the first time today. I guess you could never have thought that Paul would have tried these songs as it is not my style. Maybe, I was surrounded by 4 ladies (Candice, Germaine, Catherine & Jaycee) in my room, leaving me as the only guy in the room.
I had the chance to listen to a good rendition of this song too by Candice & Jonathan Teo.
I thought they did a good job, considering it was the first time they did a duet together.
After the KTV session, it was our regular feature, the birthday celebration. This time, it was for Karen Hui & Jonathan Ya.
We would like to thank Jas for ordering the cake for the birthday boy and gal.
After that, we adjourned to Hans Cafe at Harbourfront Centre for dinner and had a long chat before we went home.
I hope that the newbies who joined us today, Germaine, Jaycee, Alex, Pei Yong, Karen Tan & Jonathan Ya had a good time today.
