Christmas Celebrations 2010

I had prepared my usual Ferrero Rocher chocolates to share the joy of giving for Christmas once again this year. This year, I was only able to give 1 Ferrero Rocher chocolate to each of my colleague and my bosses as my office had an increase in headcount. I hope my colleague won’t say that I am stingy.

I was invited by Ivy to join her friends and some of our Singing @ K friends at Music Dreamer Live Café, affectionately known as “爱琴海”for the Christmas countdown on Christmas Eve. Since I was early as I knocked off at 4pm, I messaged Ivy that I would be reserving their seats at the food court. Evelyn was smsing me that I was very early and she would be late, arriving at 6pm.

I was at the food court by 5.15pm, after looking at the MP4 players at the Creative Technology store. Ivy, followed by her friends, Jace, Bingying (who is actually my poly mate at Ngee Ann,but we didn’t get the chance to know each other, despite seeing each other at the lectures.) Daniel came in. Evelyn & Ann were the last to come in.

We were joined by Mandy & Betty at the café later. The first hour was audience hour where the audience would perform on stage, instead of the singers. I had always admired my friends Jayce, Carol & Jessica for daring to perform on stage for the café’s audience night on Mondays. It took me a while to decide to give it a try. Actually, Daniel was being targeted by the gals to go up on stage to sing for the night, in which he did at the end. I am still awaiting the videos of our performances from Ann.

I knew that I did not do well for my 1st live performance, but I just wish to thank my friends for liking my status message and compliments when I put up that I did my first live performance last night. The atmosphere was entirely different from what you normally do singing in a KTV room. But I thought this was just for the fun of it.

After that we were treated to performances from the Café’s resident bands 2308 & MoodInTune, with some games and sing-a-long tunes, before counting down for Christmas & awaiting the lucky draw.

On Saturday, Jonathan Teo, Jonathan Ya, Jas, Lance & I were invited to Andrina’s house for a KTV session cum home cooked Christmas dinner.

It seems like we are at peace for the moment, following the unhappy incident last month. Hopefully it stays this way for the time being.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. After the dinner, we indulged ourselves in some German wine before we were asked to pose for photos. After that, we adjourned to Harry’s Bar for a drink and chat session. Jonathan was so afraid

My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
