Surprise @ Shock Resignations

Recently, there has been quite a number of shocking resignations at my company’s audit division. The reason why I am surprised is some of them had only been with the company for a few months.

Some of my departed colleagues have always put in long hours and I feel that they have been very professional and good with their work. There must be some reasons behind their leaving.

Anyway, I just want to wish them all the best in their future endavours!

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
