What Is Friendship To You?

Recently, there were several instances that happened to me or around me that caused me to think about this question in deep thought.

  1. A friend of mine, whom I used to be close with, but later decided not to keep in contact, as she had always asked me for loan and I always had problems chasing back the payment, as she did not keep up to the repayment schedule as promised, suddenly messaged me in the middle of the night, and asked me for a huge loan. If you were in this situation, how would you react?
  2. It’s the eve of a public holiday, and you planned something for your close friends as a get together. In the course of the event, some friends whom you did not invite, saw you guys having fun together and stirred up a big fuss about why you did not invite them. If you were in this situation, how would you react?
  3. A group of friends decided to share a birthday gift for a common friend whose birthday was approaching. The initiator of the idea sent out a message to the common friends that he had with the birthday person and those who received the message were okay with the idea and the budget. The initiator then went with several people to get the gift. About a week later, a few of them, whom was okay with the sharing of present in the 1st place, decided to back out, as they claimed that this group of friends did not invite them to a group tour that this group of friends were having with the birthday gal. The initiator had to spend some time and effort to explain to the people sharing the gift that these few people had backed out, and also keep it from the birthday gal that this happen?  If you were in this situation, how would you react?

So would you keep these people as your friends?

Dinner @ Bacchus @ Dempsey

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
