A Good Start to July

I finally found some time to update my blog today after a hectic month in June, which was pretty hectic for me.

  • CPE Audit by SIATP -  The audit was not a surprise to me as it has been three years since I became an Accredited Tax Professional. It was my 1st time being selected for audit. However, the way the administrative details have not been up to mark as I had sent the copies of the attendance certificates for my CPE courses in their self enclosed envelope, but they claimed in an email reply to me that they did not receive my certificates, but they received my cheque payment for the subscription fees, as the receipt that I had requested for had arrived by post. It made me lose sleep that night when I received that rude email as I was worried that where the remaining content of the mail had gone to. My mum was saying that I should send this type of mail by registered post next time. It is until that I called the organisation that they realised their error and apologised for their mistake. I managed to clear the audit.
  • Outstanding Volunteer Award & Long Service Volunteer Award

I was pleased to have receive the outstanding volunteer award & long service volunteer award (10 years) from IRAS. At the same time, I was happy that all my team members who played a part in the e-filing this year got the award as well. It was nice to have worked with all of you, and I certainly look forward to working with you all next year.

  • Pioneer Generation Ambassador – At the request of my mum and a friend of mine, I was roped in to be a PGA to assist them. I must say the training had been fun.
  • Chloe & Gonnie’s wedding

I am pleased that 2 of my long time KTV friends, Chloe & Gonnie finally got hitched. I was happy for them and glad to be invited to their wedding. May I take the opportunity to wish the couple have a happy & blessed marriage.

  • Certificate In Community Development -  This certificate, which I started in Feb 2014 is on course to see its finish line in Jan 2016. I had enjoyed my courses so far, except for one or two. It has been a fulfilling experience so far.
  • A Thank You Breakfast from The Serangoon CC

This was definitely something that my team and I did not expect. We were invited by the management of the Serangoon CC for an early breakfast today to thank us for our efforts at the volunteer e-filing exercise.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. After the dinner, we indulged ourselves in some German wine before we were asked to pose for photos. After that, we adjourned to Harry’s Bar for a drink and chat session. Jonathan was so afraid

My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
