Energy Sapping October

It has been an energy sapping October for me as I had to deal with the office politics at my work place and some family matters, as my mum had continually advised me to get a house, get a girlfriend and get married.

This was definitely not something that I want and can wish for it to happen soon as I always believe that it is better to get a house when you have a partner, as the cost of the house can be shared with your partner, therefore the burden is not that heavy, as having 2 people to pay for a big purchase is always better than one. I still stand by my belief that a single needs a remuneration package of at least $6,000 to own a flat in Singapore. I also had the feeling that they wanted to move in with me if I had a singles flat, so that they can rent out on the one that we are living in. Personally, I prefer not to be saddled with too much debts as my insurance commitments are already a lot due to my physical disability.

About getting married or getting a girlfriend, it is something that I hope to achieve, but it is not so easy, especially with my disability, people have other viewpoints about you, which is something that you cannot change. Also, by forcing the issue, the relationship will usually turn out bad. I have tried before myself and seen real life examples of people around me suffering from the impact of bad marriages or bad BGRs. This can happen to anyone, including the guys.

After a family friend’s intervention, both my mother and myself understood where we are coming from and I am thankful for my mum’s plan for me, although I still feel apprehensive about this as my mum is getting closer to her retirement, yet she wants to have me started on a good footing.

My friends have sensed that I have been moody recently. Talking to some of them made me feel better. My grandma’s health has not been good for some time, but I have not been able to see her, due to some elders showing my family  their black faces when we are there to visit.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
