Busy October

It has been a while since I dmin blogged as I had been busy fighting fires at work, appointed as an admin for a Facebook Group ,

the administrator, whom helped me with my community e-filing project as he felt that I was able to contribute to the group. I am glad that I am able to put my bus services knowledge to good use and be of help to the members to the group in times of the frequent train delays and breakdowns.

I had been disillusioned by my work recently as my boss had doubted my integrity over a task that I was assigned. Being in a professional tax consulting firm for the past 13 years, I must say it is an insult to me that I nearly decided to move on. The bad economy has played a part in stopping me from leaving for the time being. I am thankful for the support of my friends as well, for standing by me in this difficult times of mine.

The volunteer programme that I have been working on had hit some hiccups, but I was fortunate enough to have found a new partner to collaborate with me and my friends for this project.  We also have managed to find some locations to start the project. We have also managed to link up with the various organisations for the publicity of this project. I hope that all will be well when the time comes.

The ktv group that I have been leading for the past 9 years plus is doing fine, except that there has been a few strange people around. To me, it is not too good to be too aggressive as a guy when you express your interest to a gal. It is also wrong of a gal to accept the guy's offer to do things or deeds for her when she has no interest or liking for him. The same applies to a guy as well. It is also no good to ask probing questions that makes someone uncomfortable when he/she has only know you for a short period of time.

I am thankful that I have been treating my friends and people around me well enough that they are helping me in return in my time of need.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. After the dinner, we indulged ourselves in some German wine before we were asked to pose for photos. After that, we adjourned to Harry’s Bar for a drink and chat session. Jonathan was so afraid

My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
