June Musings

It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.

I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.

I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring. In fact, this is the first time in my 20-year career that I truly feel that I am being appreciated for my work and there is teamwork and comradeship in the workplace.

My assistant treasurer term is almost up. I will be continuing in this role for this new term. Time flies, this year is the 12th year since I stepped in as a grassroots leader. This year is also my 8th year as a Silver Generation Ambassador. I still believe in doing good despite the bad that I am facing as I believe good tidings will be coming at the end of the rainbow.

Nowadays, I do not believe in setting long-term goals after three years of instability. I prefer to see out the year first and set 3 months to 6 months goal as you will not know what to expect next.
