CNY Gambling Day

I chatted with Rebecca till about 3am before turning in. We were discussing about the Viet bride issue that I wrote about in my previous post & plans to catch any of the following movies with her tomorrow.

  1. Memoirs of A Geisha
  2. I Not Stupid 2

But till now, she has not confirmed the time that she wishes to catch the show. I guess she is busy visiting & collecting her red packets.....:)

Got up at about 10.30am as my dad said he was expecting his colleague from China to pay us a visit in a short while. He arrived shortly after. My brother & I stayed in the study room after greeting him as we were not familar with him. He left a big bag of oranges wrapped in a " man" paper bag. "Man" in Chinese means full and declined my mum's offer to stay for the steamboat lunch.

After lunch, my family went to my 1st uncle's place where I had a fun time learning & playing mahjong. I had learned the basics during my NS days, but didn't have the chance to put it to practice. Although I lost a bit in the game, I won it back in playing blackjack. Haha.

Left at about 7pm with my 2nd aunt back home, where she had dinner at my place. We continued our mobile gambling den at my uncle's place before calling it a nite at 9pm.

Eh... today was rather busy and phone was having low battery... Sorry for not answering the call, but you called when I was watching the fireworks display leh... Haha....

Tomorrow cannot go out, relatives coming over.. so.... another day perhaps? Sorry......

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
