Lunch with Friends

I was out for lunch at Plaza Parkroyal with Darling, Richard & Rebecca today, but not before my mum had something to say about what my New Year Resolutions should be for 2006.

I should be reading more books, despite my busy schedule for work & ACCA. In this way, I can find myself a girlfriend in time to come. Not wanting to pick up a quarrel with her, I just kept quiet & let her say whatever she wanted. She thinks that looking for a girlfriend is like picking vegetables from the supermarket. I just feel that it is pretty funny. Anyway, as said before, I feel that at 26, I am still young. My career has just started & I am still pursuing my ACCA. It is quite common that guys & gals these days get hitched after 30, due to the high standard of living leading to people pursuing more degrees or MBAs to keep up with development in technology & getting high pay packages.

I should be attending more religious outing for my Buddhism practice. I have tried attending with the group of youngsters that she introduced to me. However, I found that the people in there are too immersed in the religion itself, making me fearful of the religion, that I do not practise nowadays. I can sense that she was upset about it, but I don't think it can be helped, because I do not want to be such a "siao on" person about religion. Another thing is that even though we are around the same age, I feel that we do not have common topics to talk about.

Back to the lunch, we met up at Levander MRT before proceeding together to our lunch venue. The menu was like the Christmas menu that I had with my bosses & colleagues that day. There was no durian prata but a lot of seafood, like soft shell crab, sashimi, mussels & oysters. Yummy yummy. We have a good time having fun feeding each other & SR was busy "drawing" our faces on the napkin. To think that DJ went crazy & took photos with my phone & Richard's phone. But I think all of us had a lot fun. We had a full & long lunch.

After the lunch, we walked to Seiyu Bugis & Raffles City after that. Was hoping to find some CNY clothes, especially T-shirts & bermudas, but the prices were definitely not within my budget, despite the "Sale"/ "Discount" tags on them. It ended up all of us ended with nothing, except for DJ & Rebecca, where they bought some ladies stuff.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
