Eventful Days & Finally Got My Digital Camera

I had been busy for the past two days.

Thursday nite: - Was at a colleague's dad in law funeral wake at Bendemeer. This colleague, L, is usually my lunch partner. Was nearly stopped by mum for attending this as she said that the people born in the Year of the Goat this year were not supposed to attend any weddings or furnerals, as it will bring bad luck to my career this year. I do not believe in this, so there I went. I always believe in another Chinese phrase, "礼尚往来", as L has always been nice to people. By the way her dad in law died of lung cancer at the age of 85.

Friday nite:- Was asked to take a cab down to Jurong Point to meet Jason to help him get a watch. Unfortunately, the card was denied. I really wanted to scold the customer service people of UOB Card Centre. Why are you guys stopping purchase transactions when you guys have successfully deducted the money from my dad's account? How do you make people want to continue to use your card even if there is one million cards in circulation? In the end, Jason did not get what he wanted. I could sense that he was disappointed but I guess it cannot be helped.

Went for our dinner at the JP Kopitiam, where I had 小碗面 & Jason had claypot rice. After that, decided to take a peep at the digital cameras at Harvey Norman. I finally got the digital camera, Olympus LR 300 @ $499. It seems pretty good, just what I wanted & cheaper than the IXUS I Zoom as stated in my previous entry by $100 and the features were about the same. I was thinking of paying by instalments but with the stupid card problems that I have (looks like a trip to UOB seems likely, as I need the card just in case for my trip.) caused me to pay by my debit card instead.

My boss had not been in the best of mood for the past week, but he did something out of the ordinary today. He asked me to check some confidential info relating to the company, which made me have a clear picture of what is going on in the company. I wonder if he knew about my plans to leave the company. Why would he have asked me to do something that is considered as confidential as to the management of the company.

Thinking of this makes me feel that I think I should stay on & help him after he revealed so much today.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
