Huiyu's Birthday & The Card Reader

I managed to get this photo out of the digital camera that I just bought on Friday, after an hour of unsuccessful tries with the Olympus Card reader, given free by the Harvey Norman Jurong Point salesman. The card reader seems not able to read. I do believe it is not the USB Port problem, as I am able to detect my bluetooth device with that. Will be going back to the salesman later, to see if I can change the card reader. Fortunately, I got the camera early, otherwise it will be a big problem if the camera had problems in Genting.


Yesterday, met up with Huiyu for her early birthday celebration. Even though it was a small gathering, Jason, me & my brother, together with the birthday gal as the rest of the people invited were all busy with their work or other commitments. Huiyu said she missed out calling Richard. I guess she will make up to him one of these days.

Had the dinner at 国俯steamboat resturant. The resturant is located at Far East Square. I liked the ambience & the good service provided by the boss, who hails from Shenyang. The food is pretty delicious. Heard from Huiyu that the boss could remember all the customers by name after their first visit, as I was pretty surprised when she could recognise Huiyu. I was stunned by the fact that the resturant had less than 10 customers on a Saturday evening, which is unusual. The cost of the food was very affordable, considering the amount of food that we ordered. Really got to thank Huiyu for the treat. We also feel bad about the gift that we gave her, as we didn't notice that she does not wear earrings. Luckily, we provided her with the receipt to exchange for something that she wants.

After the dinner which took us 2.5 hrs, we went to Coffee Bean @ Boat Quay for coffee. She didn't want us to pay for the drinks and chatted till about 12mn before going our seperate ways

Since I liked the ambience of the resturant, I guess I may get Krys to be there for her birthday next month. Anyway, it may also be my increment & promotion month, which I certainly hope so. I don't think I will be able to leave now after my boss showed me some classified info on Friday. Looks like Paul is staying on for another year. I hope I can tahan.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
