Start of 14 Day Study & Exam Days a.ka. MIA Announcement

Tomorrow marks the start of my self-styled revision program for the 3 ACCA papers that I will be taking.

  1. Paper 3.2 - Advanced Taxation - 7 Jun 2006
  2. Paper 2.6 - Audit & Internal Review - 13 Jun 2006
  3. Paper 2.4 - Financial Management & Control - 14 Jun 2006

I should be clocking 10 hour days daily with breaks and some scheduled meetings with friends in between. I hope that my efforts will not go to waste.

Please don't blame me for going MIA. I will try to come in here if I have things to blog during my breaks & meetings.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. It can be afternoon or nite show, but afternoon is preferred as I would like to avoid the crowd shopping for CNY goodies & clothes. I would like to call the following people. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
