Brother's Birthday Celebration & JJ's Concert

Woke up at 11.35am yesterday and suggested to my brother that I bring him to Sakae Sushi for a birthday treat. It was his birthday yesterday. Just as we were planning to step out of the house, Mum suggested that we meet her for lunch instead. She said it was brother's birthday. But it ended up I had to pay for the meal later. Mum was telling me not to be too stingy towards family members & generous towards my friends. Was wondering why mum said that? I think I treat my family members the same way I treat my friends, but my family is always close to my heart.

Lunch was at a Japanese Resturant at Ang Mo Kio Central. The service was ok and the serving of the Bento was filling, considering the size & variety of dishes and it was at a low price too, considering that the three of us spent less than $40 for the meal.


Went home after that and prepared for 林俊杰 Concert. Was supposed to meet Caifeng at 5pm at Aljunied MRT for dinner, but was late as I was preparing an interview on Tuesday. I am just going there for a try since the job scope will be very different from what I am currently doing now.

Dinner was at a dim sum eatery at Gelyang. After that, took a train to Kallang and took a bus to the Indoor Stadium. I nearly forgotten that it was the NDP Rehersal yesterday. That made the jam even worse. In the end, we alighted a stop earlier and walked to the venue.

The concert was overall very good as JJ showed off his talent in playing the piano and drums, using his mouth to make music and his dance moves. He also surprised us with some of his costume changes. I liked the one which he was dressed as a general, when he sang 曹操 and the part where he got the dancers to train us for a simple dance routine when he was singing 就是我

However, the bad thing about the concert was that it was too short, in my opinon as he only managed to sing his songs from his 编号89757 & 曹操 albums, and he sang very few songs from his first two albums, as he dabbled his hand into singing Jay Chou's 黑色幽默，当你 and Ah Mei's 记得. He also asked his special guests, Ah Do & Jin Sha to sing their songs as he went for his coustme changes.

Had a hard time hailing a cab at the Indoor Stadium when the concert ended at 11.35pm. We walked to the bus stop and took a bus to Suntec City and tried our luck there. Still there was no cab. In the end, we ended up calling a cab instead. I sent Caifeng & her sister back home first, before heading home myself. It was 1.15am when I got home. So tired, after two nights of fun and the thought of going back to work tomorrow sux.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. After the dinner, we indulged ourselves in some German wine before we were asked to pose for photos. After that, we adjourned to Harry’s Bar for a drink and chat session. Jonathan was so afraid

My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
