Rainy Boxing Day

Today was like last week, rained throughout the day. I didn't really want to get back to work after an eventful Chirstmas. Chirstmas has never been so good for me before.

Nothing much happened at work today, except that J had invited all of us to join her for baby shower at Pasir Ris Costa Sands Resorts on Saturday. I will be attending since I don't think I have anything on for the moment.

I am actually looking to plan something over the long weekend with my sisters, Wendy & Elaine. It will be something like what we had at Elaine's house the other day. I wonder if they want. Since there are 4 days in the long weekend, they are free to pick the day they want.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. It can be afternoon or nite show, but afternoon is preferred as I would like to avoid the crowd shopping for CNY goodies & clothes. I would like to call the following people. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
