Eventful Sunday Afternoon & Nite

I met up with Wendy, Chris & Stella at Paya Lebar MRT station yesterday to go to Elaine's company, Jamiyah Home's fund-raising fun fair. It took us quite some time to locate where the fun fair was held when we reached the bus stop near the home. In the end, I was sweating like a althlete who completed a 10km walk.

As it is a Children's Home, most of the games there were for children. It was really a turn back of the clock for all of us as I started my dunking game and aiming game. Elaine surprised us with a big sports bag filled with bears that she won. Chris & I were there joking that it is as heavy as the Army Barang Barang, the bag that was issued to all recruits when they book into Palau Tekong.

We stayed and played for a while. I won some things, but I gave the soft toys to Stella & a little Malay girl as I can't think of who I could gave the soft toy to as my target don't seem to like it. I kept the bag filled with a cushion, notebook and swimming board for my own use. I also got a doggie hp pouch from Elaine mei. I am still thinking if I should use it at home or at the office.

We met up with Terence at Eunos MRT to catch our movie @ the Grand Cathay. It was my 1st time there. We had our dinner @ the nearby Ajisen at PS.During the dinner, Elaine, Terence and me took some effort to hint Chris to get a set of couple rings for Wendy mei. We didn't expect him to spring into action so fast as we stepped out of the resturant. He went to the jewellery shop nearby and asked the salesperson for advice. The next thing we knew, the rings were purchased in front of a stunned Wendy.

The movie:

Our world will be transformed when aliens make Earth their final battleground in "Transformers." As the forces of evil seek the key to ultimate power, our last chance for survival rests in the hands of young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf).

I felt that the movie was well done with the animations, graphics & effects, although some parts may seem a little overboard. Overall I would give the movie 3.5 out of 5 stars.

The movie was about 2hr 10 mins long. At the end of the movie, our nightmare for waiting the cab to take us home began. There were many cabs but all were hired or busy. We got so fustrated waiting despite walking to Prinsep St that Chris signalled to me & Wendy that Service 147 was at the bus stop and told us to hop on the bus instead. Although I had to take a 15 min walk as I alight from the bus stop near my home, I was lucky not to wait for the cab as I heard from Stella that she & Elaine had to call a cab before they could get home.
