Mine & Ter's Birthday Party

I got to thank my mum, my 4 little cousins, my friends for making my & Terence's birthday party at my place a huge success. This is by far the best one I had, as the crowd was huge, 24 people, my mum went to count when she was helping me & Ter cut the cake. If you are wondering where the photos are? I hope Sau Chee & Jolene had a great time chatting with my parents.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

Pantang- Meaning Things Not To Do In Hokkien

There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
