Mum In Hospital

I know some of you will be surprised as you are reading this. I took the decision to get my dad to send my mum to TTSH last nite as her fever and shivers was on and off for the past 3 days. The locum (stand in GP) who treated her, gave her some medication but she didn't get well. In fact, I tried to arrange another appointment with the clinic again, but as it was the locum on duty again, she refused to see the doctor.

I guess I must thank my nurse friend for alerting me that my mum may be suffering from viral fever. I also have to thank my mum's ex colleague for convincing her to check into the hospital to do some tests.

At first, dad was not willing to send her in. It was not until when my brother and I urged him to send her in. I was thinking, if he was not willing to do it, I could do it. I can't bear to imagine the consequences if I have not stood by my decision.

Mum only got the hospital bed this morning after some tests were done on her late last nite. I just visited her just now. One of the tests confirmed that she may have infection in her urinary tract. I will only know the results of her other tests tomorrow after a meeting with the doc. My mum is eager to be out of the hospital but I am going to ensure that she gets well first before she is discharged.

I would like to thank my friends who sent their regards to my mum after seeing my previous blog post about her illness, which I linked it to facebook as well, and my friends who sent their regards to my mum after reading my sms and facebook tagline. I guess u guys know who are. Not forgeting my nurse friend & my mum's ex colleague, as their input have assisted in my decision making.

I just have this to say to all of you.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
