Update About Mum

Went to visit my mum today for a short while as I was chased home by her as she felt that I was too tired to go to the hospital immediately after my work. She even told me to stop visiting her. Do you think I bear to do that?

Just a quick update of her condition, she is getting better. The doc is still administering the drip to ensure that the infection heals. The doc is trying to do a one week on drip course for her before discharging her & giving her a antibiotic medication to be eaten. So the most probable date of discharge may be Thu.

Have been shuttling to the hospital for the past few days continously. I just hope that this bad start to the New Year ends soon.

Once again, thanks to all my friends for their words of consolation via sms, my blog & facebook. I truly appreciate your friendship. Not forgetting my nurse friend, who gave me words of advice and calmed my nerves when I asked her about my mum's condition before she was sent to hospital. I guess without her words, I be at a loss as to what to do.

House Visiting & AVietnamese Girlfriend For Me??

I started my day early today at 8.30am. I was helping my mum with the flower decoration & slept at 1am last night. Had received CNY sms messages from my ex colleague, LS, Angela, Rebecca, Darling, Caifeng, Huixuan, Huiyu, Mac, Jaslyn, Joey, Candy , Kelvin, Rich & Mike. Thanks for all your well wishes, my friends. The 1st stop was at my grandma's place, which we were lucky to get a cab almost immediately after waiting for just a short while. In the ride, my mum & I were chatting casually about some issues that happened in S'pore recently, when we actually touched on the old cobbler cheating Vietnamese gals to be his bride. The cabby told us an incident that happened to his friend. His friend, a guy aged 39 had married a Thai gal aged 23 some years ago. Soon after, they became parents to a baby boy. There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.
