Birthday Surprise

I went to work on my birthday today. This was the 3rd successive year that I was working on my birthday. Someone called me and asked me why I was still working. Apparently, she has not been paying attention to what I have told her. I just wonder if she practises selective hearing or likes to make news out of nothing. She claims that she is busy with work, but from the looks of it, she has caused some hoo ha again. The person whom I am talking about is the same one that I mentioned a few posts ago. Anyway, I shall not let my mood be spoiled by this person as it is bad luck to be angry on one’s birthday.

I decided to make my official entry to the Big 3 Club today by:-

  • Sharing my joy by buying my own birthday cake from TCC.

I got the 1st cake, Kalamansi Wonderland for them as I thought it is not too sweet and would be suitable for the seniors in my office. It is good that they enjoyed the cake. I would like to thank the guy who always served me when I am at TCC International Building branch for the efficiency of the order. My boss gave me Istean vouchers as my birthday present after hearing that it was my birthday.

  • Organising a dinner treat as a start to promote interaction among colleagues

I felt that the dinner went well, as I had a chance to get to know Jinn Der, Sing Chien & my new colleague, Wee Yong better, although there were no female colleagues who joined us. Maybe these colleagues of mine were more of a homely bunch of gals. But I certainly didn’t expect them (Chloe, Yun Fah, Shao Ting, See Ying & Agnes) together with Wilson to get me the first gift. Sing Chieh the 2nd gift & Jinn Der gave me the 3rd gift. I shall open it when I am free later as I am really tired now. Going to sleep soon after my hair dries up.

And another piece of news to share before I hit the sack, I am going to be interviewed by a community magazine in my neighbouring district to share about my Volunteer e-filing experiences in the past 6 years!

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
