My Birthday Celebration KTV

Although my voice is not in its tip top condition, I decided to go ahead with my birthday celebration KTV so as not to disappoint my 22 guests who are attending the celebration. I hope all my guests enjoyed themselves. I am sorry for not being able to sing as much as I wish to with all of you due to my sore throat.

Anyway, just wish to thank the following people for making the celebration a blast.

The celebration started with an early lunch appointment with Andrina, Lance, Jonathan & Qiqi and myself. I thought I was going to be late so I rushed down in a cab, but it ended up I was the earliest as the rest arrived late due to the jam.

Had a chance to duet with Yvonne & Qiqi these 2 duets.

I must say Qiqi has a good voice for singing. :)

Our group’s PK song for this round was this song.

The contestants for the PK was Jonathan Teo & Yvonne , Lawerence & Karen. I thought that the both groups did well.

After the session, we went to BK for dinner and had a Christmas gift exchange which Belinda planned before heading to St James for a while. I would like to thank Thomas for the ride home. Thanks to Qiqi, Thomas, Belinda and Jonathan for their concern about my sore throat. I am slowly recovering.

There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. House Visiting & AVietnamese Girlfriend For Me??

I started my day early today at 8.30am. I was helping my mum with the flower decoration & slept at 1am last night. Had received CNY sms messages from my ex colleague, LS, Angela, Rebecca, Darling, Caifeng, Huixuan, Huiyu, Mac, Jaslyn, Joey, Candy , Kelvin, Rich & Mike. Thanks for all your well wishes, my friends. The 1st stop was at my grandma's place, which we were lucky to get a cab almost immediately after waiting for just a short while. In the ride, my mum & I were chatting casually about some issues that happened in S'pore recently, when we actually touched on the old cobbler cheating Vietnamese gals to be his bride. The cabby told us an incident that happened to his friend. His friend, a guy aged 39 had married a Thai gal aged 23 some years ago. Soon after, they became parents to a baby boy. When the boy turned 3, the gal took away the money in the joint bank account with her husband. The savings totalled to about $100,000, which the guy had saved for years fr...
