My New Year Eve
My New Year Eve started on a bad note as I had wanted to record the Mediacorp TV show “Together” but my DVD recorder settings went haywire as I was trying to program it to record the show. Anyway, it is alright since I have the 8 Days magazine, so it just means that I have to get my TV fix there.
The day was pretty boring at work as there was nothing much to clear yesterday. The whole day, which lasted till 5pm was about me staring at the PC and playing with my mouse and familarising myself with the new keyboard, after the old one I had suddenly stopped serving me last week and sending pre New Year smses to my friends. This festive season, I decided to craft my own sms messages to send to my friends as I believe that the sms messages with a personal touch will say how I feel about the friendship that we shared, rather than forwarding forwarded smses. Also, I didn’t send to many people as I feel that these friends are part of my treasured group of friends.
The long wait to 5pm was finally over, and I went to meet Rachel at Dhoby Ghaut MRT for the start of my Countdown Celebration to the Year 2010. First stop was to Boon Keng MRT to meet David, Jas & Alex to bring us for dinner at Levander Street at Xing Xiang An Hai Xian Wu.
We had fried sweet and sour groupa, kailan with scallops and chili crabs with buns and soup. I really enjoyed the crabs. The restaurant seems to be quite popular, as all the seats were reserved when we got there.
After the delicious meal, we headed to Orchard Cineleisure to catch the movie, Treasure Hunter.
The movie was only so so movie in my opinon. I shall not comment on anything as it may agitate the fans of Jay & Lin Chi Ling.
After the movie, we headed to East Coast for our own countdown. I have to thank Jas and Alex for being so well prepared in bringing us the sparkles, light sticks and poppers to usher in the Year 2010. But the jam at ECP meant that we counted down to the Year 2010 in a cab. Not only that, they also had insect repellents and lotion to block the mosquitos. Poor Rachel was bitten a fair bit by the mosquitoes. We were also entertained by some music coming from the concert nearby.
Headed for home at about 2.30am as Rachel was tired and Alex was sniffing away like a running tap. I have to thank Alex and Jas for giving me a ride home, despite staying far away from my place.
